As this is my first time writing a Greek mythology fanfiction (I literally stumbled onto this category but two days ago), I will state that I am rather unsure about the ending of this poem. I usually do not write poetry, and thus am not quite as talented as I might wish to be. It is, however, not necessarily my decision, but yours that counts. Therefore, I beg you to leave a review and tell me what you think.

In the Depths of the Underworld

By julieluvswriting

In the depths of the underworld
Where light can never reach
No sun exists to light this land
No flowers here to teach

In the depths of the underworld
Misery only is known
Souls screaming, pained and weary
Trapped in their new home

In the depths of the underworld
A place feared by all
Ruled by Hades, dark and cold,
Cruel to one and all

In the palace of the underworld
No laughter there can exists
Cold and frigid, the lonely king,
Hated by all, unmissed

In the palace of the underworld
Loneliness prevails
Silence reigns, coldness follows,
Frigid, gloomy, pale

In the palace of the underworld
A new tread is heard
The beautiful Persephone
As delicate and lovely as a bird

In the depths of the underworld
Shock there resounds
For their king has fallen in love
Truly fate knows no bounds

In the palace of the underworld
No longer is there gloom
Persephone's laughter, light, and life
Echo in every room

In the depths of the underworld
Gloom there still remains
Souls to be judged, death all around
It all is still the same

But the palace of the underworld
No longer is so cheerless
The king and his wife, happily in love
Share in their peaceful bliss

For in the palace of the underworld
It matters not there is no sun
For her life brings joy
To each and every one
