IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS AUTHOR NOTE BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO READ THIS STORY.
That Author Note 1:
To The New & Old Readers:
This story was originally uploaded on May 16, 2009.
However, it was so crappy, such as chapters were too short, not enough in depth and details, grammar errors, unnecessary underlining, no spaces under replies of characters, but then again it was my first fanfic, and it was the 'prototype' for my writing skills and whoo. . .how much I improved from 2009 until now. So, I deleted the old version. I'm starting this story from scratch all over again.
Inspiration That Caused Me To Rewrite This Story All Over Again & Some Background Info:
I was browsing through YouTube and I heard this song called 'Love Child' by Diana Ross & The Supremes. And for some reason that song reminded me of this fic and the main character which is my OC Hailey and Rosalina just a bit. I felt like Rosalina would sing that song to her or if Hailey would have a daughter or son she would sing it to him or her. (Yeah sounds much better for Hailey.) [Minus the slums, growing up in poverty, and the father left my mother in the lyrics of the song, (well cause Rosalina's father never left her mother, but in Hailey's case, it would fit though) in the song.] Which made me think that I should go an heavily work on this fic from scratch all over again.
By the way I suggest you readers hear the song yourselves, find the lyrics, and see how it relates to the story. Some parts of the lyrics relate to the story however. Once this story has a few chapters the relation between the song and this fic will be more clear and in fact when I typed up the intro for this fic, I was listening to the song over and over again, I love it actually.
What's a Love Child?
If you have listened to the song and have no idea what "Love Child" means well besides being a hit single in 1968 by Diana Ross & The Supremes, it is basically non-offensive way to say "bastard child," which is the offensive way of saying "illegitimate child."
An illegitimate child is basically someone born out of wedlock, which is that the parents are not married to each other. In this case for this story, technically speaking Hailey is an illegitimate child, due to the fact that Rosalina is a single parent in this story and is not married to Hailey's father.
So that's how the song influenced and reminded me of this story.
To Old Readers:
The general plotline of this story is the same as the old one but with major changes, such as more detailed, longer chapters, changed titles for chapters, and some scenes in the chapters are different than the original version back in 2009.
To The New Readers:
If you are new to this story and have read my other current Mario fic, My Sweet Little Peachy, may you enjoy this fic, for this one was my first one and I. . .WILL. . . .FINISH IT!
Also, this story has a slight pokemon crossover. (Old readers probably know this.)

On a crystal clear night, where the stars shined brightly on a huge observatory which was floating in outer space near a planet called Mushroom World. A young, beautiful, cosmic princess entered a room that contained a nursery. Her small star-like creatures called lumas followed her for she was going to see her most precious treasure.
There was a wooden crib with a mobile with spinning plushie lumas that gleamed in the darkness. The princess approached the crib and looked down to see her treasure sleeping so peacefully under her blue blanket and comfy blue pillow with a golden star on it and with bed sheets of decorative stars. Yes, her baby girl that she had given birth a month ago was in the crib.
She was so precious. With her silky short brown hair, and underneath her sleeping eyes the color turquoise were her dormant eye color. She was also very fragile and indeed was a handful for the new mother. Even so, the mother loves her child very much, she will cherish her, give her what she needs, always be by her side. For this child was her 'special one.'
But there was one problem.
Where was the father?
Yes, the princess had a dilemma with the father 9 months ago. The father apparently decided to leave her regardless the child she said that she was planning to have was his. However the father denied that it was his, denied it like it was nothing. And the poor princess begged him to not leave her. For she loved him, at first she didn't when they first met, but as he began to see her often, which questioned her if he had some sort of interest in her or not, she grew to have affection for the man.
That affection then turned into love and when she confessed her feelings to him, he accepted it, for according to him, he had feelings for her as well. They dated and to the princess it was the most happiest time of her life. She never felt this way before. After her parent's and brother's death, she was lonely. She had no one to talk to, if she was sad, she had to hold in the pain, even the lumas she had wasn't enough, although she cared for them deeply.
Then she met him and changed her life completely, which at first seemed for the better but one night, they both got carried away and decided to take their love to the next level. Only to see that the result wasn't so pleasant.
He left her, and that's when her world collapsed. Her fantasy of staying with him forever with the child and perhaps even marry him were crushed. She felt betrayed, unwanted, heartbroken, rejected. Just why did she get involved with him in the first place? Why did she fall in love with him? Why was she going to have a child with a man who did no longer love her?
The answer was simple, if she had this child then perhaps he or she could fill up the emptiness of her heart, replace his or her father as the most important person of her life. Another reason was that she could not get rid of this existence that she was going to have in her body for nine months and then this existence would perhaps become the mother's next heir, even though the child would have some similar traits of his or her father.
The last reason although she would never admit it was because since the child had some sort piece of his or her father within him or her, the mother would want the child even more. She still loved him, regardless of what he did to her. The child would make her remember her fantasies that she had about the father. Even though she wanted the child to cover up the emptiness of her heart and forget the father, part of her didn't want her to. Part of her still yearned for him, and the child had some part of him, so it would satisfy the princess' part of wanting him back.
However the princess knew that there was a consequence of raising a child by herself. Which was that the child will always question who and where her father is. For a single parent, raising a child without the other, would be very difficult and aggravating. And she knew it will happen. Even so, she has decided to not tell the child about her father until she is old enough and mature to understand.
Little did she know that not telling her child in the first place is going to be a huge mistake. . .
"Mother?" asked a black luma that came into the room. "Aren't you going to bed?"
The princess turned around. "Polari," she stated. "Why, yes of course."
She then turned back to the crib and smiled. After that she placed a kiss on her baby girl's forehead. "Good night, Hailey." she said. She then closed the door quietly and left to the nursery, leaving her special child to sleep peacefully.
More That Note 1: To readers who have read the old version: Notice how much longer the prologue and more detailed it is than the old one? See? Told you it would change.
Anyways, chapter 1 has been uploaded along with the prologue so if you are interested in this story and how it would lead go and read the first chapter! I hope you enjoy this fic for the adventure starts on the next chapter!
PS: In this story, Comet Observatory is basically orbiting around The Mushroom World. Why is that? Simple, Rosalina decided to have the observatory stay close to the world for Hailey. She didn't want Hailey to grow up very alone with no interaction to people. So she's very considerate, not to mention she needs to find a job for her to make a living you know. Regardless of her being very powerful and watching over the universe. Hailey's only human, well maybe half because Rosalina is immortal like a goddess or so I heard. . .
