Ok, apologies for taking a while to upload this chapter, but I did struggle a bit while writing it. Anyway thanks again to everyone who reviewed the last chapter. This will probably be the last chapter. However, there is a possibility of an epilogue, but it won't be posted until after Christmas. Anyway enough of my rambling and on with the show.
Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who, never have done and it's very unlikely I ever will.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
"Oh Lord, he's singing again." River said looking up from the book she was flipping through.
"Ah, leave him be," Amy said "he's like a little kid on Christmas Eve."
"He's big kid, and it is Christmas Eve." River pointed out, putting the book down on the coffee table "it would be fine if he didn't switching songs halfway through," she added. As if on cue the song changed.
Frosty the snowman, was a very jolly soul
"So what have you got the Doctor for Christmas?" Amy asked
"Nothing special," she replied just a book about the universe," she replied evasively.
Amy could sense that River was editing the truth but decided that it was probably best not to ask. They slipped back into companionable silence and carried on with what they had previously been doing with the sounds of the Doctor singing in the background.
"Um, Amy you might have to reconsider the place settings for dinner tomorrow." Rory said walking into the living room.
"Why?" she asked, she had been planning the perfect family Christmas and didn't want anything to ruin it.
"Well, you know how your mum and dad were meant to be coming over for Christmas dinner and to pick up Misty?" he began "Well it would seem that due to the snow, their train's been cancelled so they're stuck in Glasgow until the 27th at the earliest." he added.
"Well that's just great," Amy replied "I was looking forward to them meeting River."
"You know you probably couldn't tell them the truth about me without them sending you back to the psychiatrists." River said looking up at her parents.
"I know, I was just going to say you were a friend who happened to be in town over Christmas." Amy commented. "Well it looks like me and Rory are going to be eating turkey until the new year now." she muttered sitting back down. Rory shared a look with River before switching on the TV for the news.
Later that night, the Doctor was stood at the window of his room, looking out at the snowy landscape. He could certainly see why Amy and Rory liked to live there. He turned at the sound of his door opening and saw River walk in.
"Couldn't sleep?" he asked
"Something like that," she replied "so I thought that maybe I should give you, your Christmas present," she added moving over to him.
"But you put it under the tree earlier."
"Oh Sweetie, did you really think that what I put under the tree was your present?" she replied. "I couldn't give you your real present until we were alone," she added sitting on his bed.
"And what is it?"
"Me." she replied simply, removing the dressing gown, she was wearing to reveal a red negligee with white trim around the bust and around the hem. The outfit was completed by black silk gloves, sheer stockings and thigh high boots. "So, have you been naughty or nice this year?" she asked seductively.
"River, you're parents are right next door."
"I'd rather not."
"You know what I mean." she replied "So, naughty or nice?"
"Nice, definitely nice. I'm always nice."
"Shame, I only give presents to naughty boys."
"Well, then, I've been very naughty this year." he replied, ever such a bad boy."
"Good to hear," she replied kissing him lightly. The kiss deepened and the Doctor moved them back towards the bed. River sat up and moved to take off the boots.
"Leave them on." he said pulling her close to him and kissing her again.
As it deepened, he flipped them over so he was on top. His lips moved from hers and began placing light butterfly kisses at the base of her neck an across her breastbone. River busied herself undoing the buttons on his shirt. Once she had pulled it off of him, she threw it to the floor and ran her hands across his back before moving them to the waistband of his trousers. The Doctor ran a hand up her leg and under the hem of her outfit. He was shocked and more than a little turned on to find out that she wasn't wearing any underwear and was more than ready for him.
Things were just getting heated when there was a knock on the door and it was pushed open. Seeing the outline of who it was, River ducked under the covers.
"Umm, Doctor I was wondering if…" Rory tailed off when he saw the state of the Doctor, several articles of clothing - one of which looked like a slutty Santa suit, and a shape under the covers that looked human. "I should've known," he muttered "River, I can see you."
"Hello," she said as she sheepishly poked her head up from under the covers.
"You know, this isn't what it looks like," the Doctor said turning over to try and cover River.
"Yeah, cos I'm really sure you two were just discussing the weather," Rory replied "I don't know why I even bothered," he added "just keep it down and don't flaunt it." he finished leaving the room.
"Well that's a nice change." the Doctor muttered "for once, your father didn't try to kill me."
"No, he didn't." River agreed "I also think he gave you permission to do what you want with me."
"Well your father walking in, kind of puts a dampener on things."
"Luckily for you, I have a plan B for situations like this," she said.
"Plan B?" he gulped
"Yeah, it goes with plan J." she replied. She watched as realisation dawned on his face, before she ducked under the covers to put plans B and J in motion.
The next morning, River awoke with her head nestled into the Doctor's neck. If she was honest, it was one of the best nights sleep she'd had in a long while. Stretching out under the covers, she accidentally kicked the Doctor,
"Sorry my love," she replied as he let out a small cry.
"I forgive you." he replied kissing her lightly "Merry Christmas," he added
"Merry Christmas to you too Sweetie," she replied curling into his side.
"So what time do your parents normally wake up?" he asked running a hand up and down her arm.
"If they're anything like they were as teenagers don't expect them up before ten," River replied looking at the bedside clock which read half past 7.
"Well that's no fun," the Doctor said getting out of the bed. "Half the day is normally gone by then." he added exiting the room. River watched him go shaking her head. "I probably should put some clothes on shouldn't I?" he said walking back into the bedroom.
"That would probably help." she replied.
Twenty minutes later, the Doctor walked across the landing towards Amy and Rory's room.
"I can't believe you are actually going to do this." River muttered as she followed him
"Well, it will be good practice for them in years to come if they ever have any more children." he replied opening Amy and Rory's bedroom door. River rolled her eyes at her husband the big kid before walking into her parent's room. "Wakey, wakey," he said in Amy's ear, earning him a little slap around the head and a phrase that made the Doctor say "Amelia!"
"Well, it didn't work," River whispered "lets go and get some breakfast."
"No, I've got one thing left to try." he replied
"Fine. But if they kill you, don't expect my help." she said folding her arms and leaning against the door as she watched the Doctor prepare to jump.
"Merry Christmas, Ponds!" he exclaimed jumping up onto their bed.
"I thought we only had our child staying for Christmas." Rory muttered as he and Amy sat up and looked at the Doctor.
"Clearly, we forgot about the big kid who travels around time and space," Amy replied sharing an exasperated look with River who was watching the scene with a look between utter bewilderment and slightly disturbed by everything.
Anyway, thanks for reading. Hope you liked it. Leave a review if you did
