A/N: So, this is my first fic in a while. WELCOME BACK, ME! No, just kidding. This is a short one-shot in my headcanon (what else) for Naomi (smudging charcoal)'s birthday- which, incidentally was 3 days ago. Oops. Anyway, happy birthday, and I hope you enjoy it!
I also have a small story recommendation- for any Glee & Klaine fans, please try to read Dalton, by CP Coulter. I promise you won't regret it if you do!
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter. Enough said?
run, Dom, run. they'll find you out, and then you're done.
Her feet fly across the sand, impact leaving small gaps in the line of unbroken beach. And yet, Dominique still runs, away from the massive group of people, celebrating- or is it commiserating- the end of summer, the start of a new school year. The youngest kids will be gone now, too- Hugh, Lily, Xannie. Dominique's last days of easy secrets. Hogwarts is not an easy place to keep a secret, she knows, and this is why she runs- in the hope that if she gets far enough away, they'll never find out- about her and Lysander, who've been together since the start of summer holidays, behind everyone's but their mothers' and Dom's sister's backs. They know how to keep secrets.
all good things must come to an end. at the start, wasn't that what they said?
But Dom still runs, runs, runs, bare feet pounding against the sand, cause it's all just set into her- that this might be the last time they'll be able to be just that- them. And Lucy gave up racing her across the beach a while back, and when Dom collapses into the strange grass at the edge of the sand, Lucy's back with the rest of the family and extended relatives, asking around as to why she could possibly be this upset. Lysander looks up, eyes searching the beach, but avoiding his brother (who might just kill him when he finds out). The dark shape right at the other end is her, but he can't make it too obvious. They can't let anyone know. So he has to turn away, and fake a smile, while his heart is screaming at him to go after Dominique.
stay, San, stay. don't let them tear your Dom away.
