"I can't believe you convinced me to play absent!" Dana exclaimed, laughing. Her eyes sparkled as her lips hovered just above her sweetheart's upturned mouth.

Rich grinned and ran his hands through her blonde hair. "It is National Ditch Day, after all, but the word is hooky."

"It's hooky, not absent, but it doesn't matter. It's about time you learned to live a little."

"I do live!" Dana started to protest. "You can't tell me what we did last Friday night wasn't living!"

Rich's grin grew. "I didn't say that," he was quick to tell her, "but you can't do this at school, either, now, can you?" His hands cupped her beautiful face, and he stroked her cheeks lovingly. Then he kissed her, long and deep, his tongue driving home in her mouth and sending thrills rocketing through both of them.

"No," she agreed in a breathless whisper, "you can't, and I can't do this there either." She kissed him back, her tongue twirling around his. She'd never played hooky a day before in all her life, but if this was the kind of fun that was available for having on every National Skip Day, she'd never miss out on it again!
