AvatarCat12: Okay, I changed my mind. I think I can do a few chapters of my Kung Fu Panda story. And I don't know how far I'm gonna get into the story, but I'll try and make sure this tries to get enough reviews. But I won't make this a very long story. Maybe up to ten or twelve chapters at least.
Even though I'll be busy with some of my other stories, I think I might try and upload some more of this story. So those who want to see more, just be patient. I'll try and write some of these chapters as soon as I can.
Disclaimer: Kung Fu Panda does not belong to me. Only Leo belongs to me.
Summary: After lunch at Mr. Ping's noodle shop, Leo arrives at the training hall in the Jade Palace. When he's expected to pass his first day of training, will he take the challenge?

The Jade Palace
"See? Told ya it was awesome."
Leo admitted that Po was correct. The young lion warrior and the inhabitants of the Jade Palace had arrived at the foot of a long flight of stairs. And resting at the top of the hill was the Jade Palace itself, majestic and awe-inspiring itself. It was Po who led the way there, Shifu and the Furious Five following him and Leo.
When Leo started walking up the steps, he was amazed that, despite walking up a few steps, he was slowly starting to get tired. But up ahead, he could see Po tiring out quite quickly. Leo was about to help him out with that, but Tigress beat him there; she quickly grabbed onto Po and heaved him back onto his feet.
"Whew! Thanks, Tigress," Po thanked her gratefully.
Tigress smiled kindly back at him and nodded. "It's what friends do: they help each other out often."
Leo felt his respect for the Furious Five slowly start to come back. It seemed that they also wanted to forget the bad incident back in the Valley Of Peace. At first, he had wanted to tell everyone about the Furious Five being angry at Po, but he changed his mind. Since they were friends again, there was no need to refuel old flames.
Meanwhile, Crane was flying up ahead of them with Mantis riding on the hat he wore on his head. Viper and Monkey were slowly catching up to Leo and the others, not bothered by the steps they had to walk on. And Master Shifu himself was also catching up despite limping; Leo wondered why he was limping.
"Well, here we are," Shifu said. "This is the Jade Palace. If you are going to stay with us for a while, we should train you as soon as possible."
Leo nodded, panting. "I understand...thanks, Shifu..."
The old master merely chuckled. "Do not thank just me, Leo. It was Po who suggested for you to come with us and train with us. Even though we usually do not train strangers, you seem to be a promising student."
"Really?" The young lion turned towards the grinning panda, holding out a paw to thank him. "Thanks, Po."
"Don't mention it," Po said, shaking returning the handshake. "I still can't believe you're training with us today! This is gonna be filled with bodaciousness!"
Leo gave him a small smile and turned to the Furious Five with a very confused look, as if he was asking them how Po came up with that. Tigress just shrugged while the other members of the Furious Five muttered that they didn't know.
"First, we shall have to give you a room," Shifu said, opening the doors to reveal a bright green room inside. It was tall, wide, and spacious with a small pool of water in the back.
Leo bowed to him and replied, "Thank you, Master Shifu, but I prefer sleeping outside. Is there anything outside I can sleep on?"
Everyone gave him confused looks while Viper asked, "Um...Leo? Did your parents make you sleep outside?"
"What? Of course not!" the lion chuckled. "I just like sleeping outside. Even my mom didn't see why I liked sleeping outside all the time."
"Very well then," Shifu said. "There are some trees you can sleep in; just do not sleep in the one high on a cliff above the Jade Palace. That is where Master Oogway...had departed from us." He finished this with a hint of sadness in his voice, the others nodding sadly.
Leo held a paw up in a promising way. "I'll write that down in my mind. And I've heard of what happened to Master Oogway. It's a shame he had to leave so soon."
Shifu nodded sadly. "Indeed. Anyways," he went on, the sadness fading away, "we will start your training anytime you want to."
"Thanks, Master Shifu," Leo said.
It had taken Leo several minutes to get himself prepared for training. He checked himself in the mirror in the changing room, feeling quite proud of his new uniform. Leo was wearing a tan robe with white fingerless gloves and a black sash over his head. He still kept the amulet his mother had given him, proud to wear it at the Jade Palace.
There was a knock on the door and, as it opened, Leo turned to see who it was. It was Po.
"Hey, Leo," the panda said. "You ready yet?"
Leo nodded. "Yep. So what's the training like?"
Po gave a chuckle as he said, "Hard. Well, it was for me at first. I had to start on level zero."
"Level zero?" It was Leo's turn to laugh now.
"Yeah," Po said, looking slightly embarrassed. "But hey, maybe you can get farther than me. How's that, huh?"
Leo chuckled. "Sure thing."
Checking to make sure he had everything, the young warrior went with Po on to the training room of the Jade Palace. Master Shifu and the Furious Five were waiting for them at the doorway, opening it slightly. What Leo saw next made him gasp.
The Training Hall was full of gizmos and gadgets, making Leo look around in awe. As soon as the doors opened, the Furious Five went inside and started putting their moves into practice. Leo saw Tigress and Mantis leap amongst some swirling devices with harmless spikes, kicking and punching at them with not much effort. Viper was slithering in and out among flames spurting from the floor. Crane was balancing himself on a large bowl and swayed from left to right. And Monkey was jumping from one moving platform to the next, knocking out popping-up targets.
"Wow..." Leo remarked as Po dashed off towards a panda-like dummy.
"Indeed," Shifu remarked, smiling. "But despite you being quite skilled in kung fu, I believe you should start on...as Po called it...level zero. So you may join him at the training dummy."
Leo smiled. "That's what Po told me."
Shifu looked over at Po. "He did, did he? Well, I think he should explain the rules of this level 'zero' before you actually start training."
The young lion warrior nodded before going over to see Po. The Dragon Warrior was busy punching and kicking at the training dummy, calling out his attacks as he did so. Leo heard attacks like "Thunder Kick" and "Belly Of Truth", making him smile at that. When he got near, he called, "Yo, Po!"
Po turned to look over at Leo and gave him a wave as he smiled. "Hey, Leo! Did Shifu say you can use the dummy?"
"Good!" Po cheered. "Now lesson number one is to stay calm and cool. Like a flown' river in the Valley of Peace. Second lesson...walk up to it. Like this," he added, walking up to the training dummy. "Obvious, huh?"
Leo nodded, smiling at that.
"Fourth lesson: PROFIT!" Po shouted, laughing afterward. "Nah, I'm kidding. Third lesson: punch." He gave the dummy a quick slap, which bounced back and hit him on the side of his head. "D'oh! Man, it's still hard on me. So...sure you can handle that, fellow trainee?"
"Yeah. Just give me a moment," Leo told him, stretching a bit. Finally, after a bit more stretching, he said, "Okay, I'm ready."
Just like what Po said, he walked up to the dummy and gave it a quick slap. Just like it did with Po, the dummy bounced back at Leo and hit the young lion on the face. Groaning in shock and mild pain, he reeled back, holding his face in his paws.
"Man! Does this always hit you like that?" Leo asked Po, facing him.
Po nodded. "Yeah. But now it's learning the hard way to mess with the Dragon Warrior!" But as he gave the dummy another slap, it bounced back against his head, making him cry out in surprise as he rubbed his head.
Over to the side, Leo could see Master Shifu gazing on at the two with amusement; he was also sure he saw some respect in those wise old eyes. Then Shifu turned to the Furious Five and announced that he was going to evaluate their skills in the training room. All five Kung Fu masters nodded and immediately got back to work.
"Leo!" Shifu called. "Would you like to demonstrate your jumping skills in the obstacle course?"
"Sure!" Leo cheered, getting into the obstacle course.
But as he got inside, he was immediately smacked around by a swinging club with dull spikes that felt like the sheathe of a sword. Then he ended up getting his feet burned by the flames that shot up from holes in the ground. And finally...he ended up getting hit hard in the groin by the spinning machine that had dull spikes on them. With a groan, he fell to the ground, feeling the pain all over his body.
"So...did I get pass level zero?" Leo rasped.
"...not quite there yet, buddy," Po said, giving him an awkward smile.
Tigress shook her head. "Actually, sorry if I sound a bit harsh, but...you did worse than Po when he first came here."
Leo weakly got to his feet. "That's okay. I'm just...not really used to fighting in this kind of style. I guess I have a lot to learn."
There was some uncomfortable muttering at this before Shifu broke the silence. "I believe that this will be a good chance for you to hone your skills while you train with us. But for now, I suggest a short break. Po, in the meantime, show Leo where he'll be sleeping."
"But I'm fine in a tree outside," Leo protested.
"I know," Shifu said. "But perhaps you would like to try a bed in here? Just for the night."
Leo opened his mouth to protest some more, but he closed it again. He always liked sleeping outdoors, where the moon and the stars shone down on him from the heavens. On the other hand, he hated to argue with the master of the Furious Five when he was now a guest.
So he finally said, "...okay."
"Yes!" Po cheered, doing a fist pump in the air. "Come on, Leo!"
"He's got a feisty spirit, doesn't he?" Leo chuckled partly to himself when Po ran off.
Shifu, having heard him, chuckled in return. "Yes he does. I'm happy he sees that having a foreign guest here is...how he says...awesome."
To be continued...
AvatarCat12: This was originally going to be a one-shot, but thanks to the reviews on here, I'll have to make a small FanFic about it. But it's cool.
Poor Leo...he's gonna have to go through that obstacles a few more times. XD But anyways, this takes place during Legends Of Awesomeness, which I think is a good TV series...but not as much as the movie. But anyways, read and review, folks! Those who do will get a virtual kung fu dummy you can practice on. I don't allow flames, but advice and constructive criticism are welcome anytime.
See ya next time! And Happy early Thanksgiving!
