"Ko-chan…", Ohana murmured. "I… um…"

"I can't hear you, Ohana", Koichi replied. "Speak louder. Are you feeling alright? You don't look so good." He placed his hand on her forehead and she squealed from the nervousness.

"W-W-What are you doing?"

"Geez, calm down, Ohana! I'm just seeing if you have a fever, because you're bright red," he says, with a concerned look on his face. "Hmm.. it doesn't seem like you have a fever, but you're all flustered. Did something happen today?"

Ohana looked down and thought about how to tell him. Iwanttotellhim.Butwhatifitruinsourfriendship?I'lllosemybestfriend, andit'llbetooawkwardforustotalk

"Aaaah! Okay, I'll just say it outright," she yells, to his surprise.

"Say what, Ohana?"

"Ko-chan… I li-"

She stops. The words she wants to say aren't coming out of her throat. She's imagined it many times in her mind, and yet, she's unable to say the words. It's not that hard to say; three words, nine letters. Nonetheless, she's afraid of his answer. She's afraid that he'll reject her and their friendship will be ruined forever. And lastly, she's afraid that he'll hate her.

Of course, there's no reason as to why he would hate her, but she tends to overthink things. Ohana knows that he'll understand, like always. They've been together since childhood, so why wouldn't he?

Whenever she's with him, she feels confident in herself and smiles every day. But right now, she feels insecure, and the smile that is usually there is replaced with her quivering lips.

"K-Ko-chan… I.. I'm so sorry…", Ohana whispers. To her surprise, tears are forming and her vision is getting blurry. "I… I can't say it…"

Koichi understands. He steps forward, takes her delicate face into his hands and gently places his lips upon hers. Ohana is shocked, but in a good way, and she kisses him back, and they stay like that until he pulls back.

"Ohana… you love me, don't you?"

She turns even redder than she was before, and averts her eyes. "Y-Yeah.."

Koichi smiles, and takes her hands into his. "Ohana, I thought if we were always together, you'd figure out how I feel about you. But apparently not!" he says with a grin.

She is confused, and manages to stutter out, "W-What do you mean by that..?"

"Man, you never change, do you? You're always so dense." he jokes, and she is about to rebut that statement until he pecks her on the lips. "Ohana, I love you. I always have."

Ohana looks at Koichi's face and can't believe it. "Are you sure, Ko-chan..? Are you sure that you love me in the love-love way, and not the friend-love way-"

And again, Koichi cuts her off, but this time with a hug, and whispers softly in her ear, "Yes, I'm sure."

She smiles and hugs him tightly. "Let's be with each other forever, okay?"

He chuckles and pats her on the head. "Of course."
