A Walton's Christmas
"Mama, we're home." said Jim-Bob as he came into the house with Elizabeth. Jim-Bob and Elizabeth looked around and there was no one home. "No one's home, what do we do?" asked Elizabeth nervously. "Well considering that it's Christmas Eve, I say that we at least make some dinner." said Jim-Bob. "OK." said Elizabeth.
"Hey there's a note on the table from Jason." said J9im-Bob picking up the note. The note said: A tree fell down on the roof of Mary-Ellen's house. Ben, Daddy, Ike, and me have gone to help. Jason. "OK, a tree fell on the roof of Mary-Ellen's house and Ben, Jason, Ike, and Daddy have gone to help. Grandma and Grandpa are in Charlottesville, Mama's in Rockfish, Erin's at Miss Fanny's and John-Boy's at college. So it looks like it's just you and me." said Jim-Bob.
"Well, what are we going to do?" asked Elizabeth. "Easy, we'll make a Christmas dinner and I'll cook, then we'll sing a Christmas carol, we'll listen to the radio, ad finally we'll have eggnog and gingerbread, and then we'll go to bed and you're sleeping with me." said Jim-Bob. "Do you have to cook?" asked Elizabeth. "Yeah, is that a problem?" said Jim-Bob. "You're a horrible cook. That honey chicken that you tried to make was horrible, it tasted like dog food it didn't taste like honey chicken at all." said Elizabeth. "I've gotten better at it." said Jim-Bob. "OK, fine" said Elizabeth.
"Let's see what we've got here, we have artichokes, cheese, and mushrooms, we can make stuffed artichokes. We have tuna, lettuce, tomatoes, and bread, we can make tuna sandwiches. We've got grape sodas and bread dough as well as cinnamon, we can make cinnamon rolls." said Jim-Bob.
"Sounds great." said Elizabeth sarcastically as her stomach growled. "Here, have some bread and honey." said Jim-Bob handing her a piece of bread and a jar of honey.
1 hour later:
"Supper's ready!" shouted Jim-Bob as Elizabeth ran down the stairs. Just then Jason opened the door. "Hope there's enough." said Jim-Bob. "What did you guys make?" asked Jason. "I made stuffed artichokes, tuna sandwiches, and cinnamon rolls." said Jim-Bob proudloy. "Well, let's eat." said Jason as he and Elizabeth sat down at the table.
"Where's Ben and Daddy?"asked Elizabeth. "Ben and Daddy are still trying to get the tree off of Mary-Ellen's roof. She said that I should head home. Daddy and Ben have the car, Ike drove me home." said Jason. "Well at least we're all together" said Jim-Bob happily taking a bite out of a stuffed artichoke and then spitting it out. "I think you're right Elizabeth, I am a bad cook." said Jim-Bob
