I just saw Warrior and it is one of the most powerful movies I have ever seen.
And I simply HAD to do an OC for Tommy…because he deserves some loving, right?
Like the other OC, I have decided that Tommy will not be charged with deserting. Mostly because my uncle (a Marine (and not a deserter)) explained what would happen and while that all seems well and good…no thanks. Besides, he said under the circumstances, what with Tommy saving those men and why he decided to leave in the first place, they'd probably cut him a break. Apparently, the military is nice to its heroes. Who knew? So…yeah. That's why:D Hope you don't really mind.
Warrior and Tom Hardy are not mine because if this movie was…I'd be rich. And a genius…If Tom Hardy was mine than I would not have to be fantasizing about his freaking beastly, sexy body. Tom belongs to his fiancée…Shit…
"What the heck? This better be good, Tess…" She muttered. "Hello?"
"Oh thank God, Aud, you're up. Look, I need you to do me a big favor…I know you're busy but I need you to look after Rose and Em."
"Because of the fight?"
"Yeah. Please. It will only be for a few days. I promise."
"Sure. I don't mind. It's been a while anyway, right?"
"Yeah. Thanks…When will you get here?"
"As soon as I call the hospital." She was certain that Dr. Conn would be more than slightly ticked but he was a nice man and she put in more hours than he did, for Christ's sake. She could have a few days.
"You are such a lifesaver!" Tess exclaimed from the other side of the line…it was not the first time she had heard those words come out of Tess Conlan's mouth. Aud had overseen Rose's treatment and recovery…and gained lifelong friends in the process.
"Okay. I'll be there in about 20 minutes."
"Aunt Audrey!" Little Rose called from the inside the door.
"Hey, Rosy! How's my favorite girl?" Aud called excitedly. Rose was always such a happy little girl.
"I'm good. Me and Emmy are playing dolls!"
"That's awesome." Aud smiled down at the girl. "Where's Mommy?"
"Thanks, sweetie." Aud walked through the familiarly clean, thoroughly American home to the open door of her friend's bedroom. "Hey, Tess."
The blonde-haired woman jumped before her eyes landed on Aud. "Oh! Aud. It's you."
"So, it's just for a couple of days." Tess told her, scrambling around the room. "I mean, it's in Atlantic City and that'll take a couple days there and back…right?"
She's going to freak out… "Yup. You got everything?"
"Yes. I've got everything." Tess muttered. "The girls' bus comes at 8...so have them ready…"
"Tess." She wasn't listening. "Tess!"
"What?" She snapped.
"It's a holiday weekend. They don't have school." Audrey told her calmly. "But I'll keep that in mind. You should probably write down everything else."
"Okay. I will…Oh God, what if he gets hurt?" Tess sat down with her head in her hands. "All those sports guys talk about is how good Kabo is…How he's unbeatable. And now Brendan has to fight him…"
"Look, sweetie, Bren's a tough guy. Stubborn as a mule. And he's fighting for family. He'll be fine…"
"You're right. You're right. I'm sorry…I should get going." Tess said, standing up to hug her friend. "I'm going to say goodbye to the girls…"
Audrey watched the fights after the girls went to bed. She had no freaking idea how Brendan beat that giant Russian-issued tank but he did and now, apparently, he had to fight his brother…She had seen that fight, too, Tommy's. Tommy Reardon was more a tank than the Russian…and apparently, he had ripped the door off one, too. Great.
Brendan didn't stand a chance. It didn't matter how much drive and courage he had. His brother had so much anger bottled up inside, and the strength to match it, that she could not see anyone beating him. Suddenly, she hated Tommy Reardon. As far as she knew, he wasn't fighting for anything but as a stress-reliever. Brendan was fighting for FAMILY. What right did this guy have to deny his own brother a way to save his family? What kind of bastard did that?
As she watched Bren and Tommy fight, she had to admire Tommy's courage. She had dislocated her shoulder once and she'd barely been able to move. Aud simply could not fathom being able to fight with that amount of pain, not to mention his other injuries. That man was definitely something else.
The end of the fight could not come fast enough. Brendon had won, and she was so happy, she almost woke the girls up with her cheers. After she contained herself, she noticed that the TV was showing a man being loaded into an ambulance. "Oh my God…" It was Brendan's brother, Tommy…And Bren was getting into the ambulance with him.
She had seen the end of the fight, it had nearly brought her to tears but...could all those years of hurt just melt away like that?
So…not my best, I admit, but I think it's worthy of reviews and alerts. Doncha think?
I'm also writing an X-Men fic so I might not update really quick…Or I might. I don't really know. All I know is that my brain is already writing the second chapter:D
