"I wish I was there," Blaine said placing his hand on the monitor.
"Me too Blaine," Kurt said with a small smile as he touched the same spot on his monitor.
Blaine sat in a hotel room in Los Angeles, while his parents were getting drunk in the lounge downstairs.
Kurt sat in his living room in Lima with his Dad, Carole, Finn and Rachel, after having flown back from New York for the holiday's, only to find out his boyfriend wouldn't be there.
"I'm sorry Kurt," Blaine said, dropping his hand, "I'm so so sorry, you know how much I wanted to be there."
Kurt smiled brightly, "I know, it's okay. I know it's not your fault."
Kurt couldn't be mad at Blaine for not being here, he know it wasn't his fault.
"It's not fair. I'm not even having fun! And they've ignored me sense we got here. I'm not even sure why I had to come with them," Blaine said crossing his arms across his chest.
"At least they're trying. They wanted to spend time with you." Kurt said, running his fingers across the screen.
"But they're not! And I haven't seen you sense you left in August and now I'm going to miss you completely!" Blaine said, tears beginning to glisten in his eyes.
Kurt stayed silent as he glanced to the TV, "11:58" shone from the bottom right corner of the screen.
"It's almost 2012 here," Kurt said wistfully.
"I'm still three hours away," Blaine said.
"You know what my new year's resolution is?" Kurt said, keeping his eyes on the TV.
"What?" Blaine said.
"To kiss you," Kurt said.
"You've done that before," Blaine said fondly.
"Not in 2012," Kurt said, glancing back at the screen.
"I wish I was there to kiss you at midnight, I know how much you wanted that," Blaine said.
Blaine could hear the countdown start on the TV.
Kurt placed his hand to his lips and then to the computer screen.
"Happy New Year Blaine," Kurt said, hand still pressed to the screen.
Blaine kissed his hand and placed it on his screen, "Happy New Year Kurt."
