YOU BELONG WITH ME…

Summary: They are now in the Teens Next Door, by the way. And the song… I thought it fit.

Nigel is seen in the kitchen, arguing on the phone, his girlfriend, Lizzie, was going off at him. Abby was sitting nearby at the counter, listening to her IPod. Pausing the song she was listening to, she shook her head softy.

You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset

She's goin' off about something that you said

She doesn't get your humor like I do.

Nigel storms out of the kitchen after hanging up. Abby resumes listening to her song, wishing that she could make him feel better.

I'm in the room; it's a typical Tuesday night

I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like

And she'll never know your story like I do

But all the second-in command can do, was wish that she was his girlfriend instead of Lizzie. What did that he see in her anyways?

But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts

She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers

Dreamin' 'bout the day when you wake up and find

What you're lookin' for has been here the whole time

The next day Abby found herself staring at Nigel who was sitting on the other side of the cafeteria after Lizzie blew up at him (again). The other three members of Sector V were heard sniggering, causing her to shoot a death glance at them.

If you could see that I'm the one who understands you

Been here along so why can't you see?

You belong with me

You belong with me

That afternoon, Abby and Nigel walked the streets, talking and glad to be free of missions and glued-to-you lovers alike. They found a bench in the park and sat down, only for Lizzie to show up and drag Nigel away again.

Walkin' the streets with you in your worn out jeans

I can't help thinkin' that this is how it ought to be

Laughin' on the park bench thinkin' to myself

Hey, isn't this easy?

Later, in the tree-house, Abby was sitting up waiting for her leader to return. When Nigel finally did, he just reinsured her that it was just Lizzie being Lizzie before going off to his room to get rest. As she turned the lights off, Abby couldn't help missing her comrade's smile.

And you've got a smile that could light up this whole town

I haven't seen it in awhile since she brought you down

You say you find that I know you better than that

Hey whatcha doin' with a girl like that?

Abby stayed up nearly half the night because of her hidden feelings for Nigel, and she asked herself the same question over and over again: Why can't he like me?

She wears high heels, I wear sneakers

She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers

Dreamin' 'bout the day that you wake up and find

What you're lookin' for has been here the whole time

Finally she finally did fall asleep, nightmares involving weddings and her leader's girlfriend plagued her mind.

If you could see that I'm the one who understands you

Been here all along so why can't you see?

You belong with me

You belong with me

It was not like it was any better at day. Abby would recall the happy times the spent together and the times when she was at her home with her sister and parents, Nigel showed up at who knows what hour in need of a talk.

Oh I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the night

I'm the one who makes you laugh when you know you're about to cry

I know your favorite songs and you tell me about your dreams

I think I know where you belong. I think it's with me.

And when she was in stand by just in case she was needed or simply waiting for him at his back door. It's odd, how memories flow when you don't really need them…

Standin' by, waitin' at your back door

All this time how could you not know that?

You belong with me

You belong with me

But they were good memories; because they reminded her she was theone he trusted the most.

Oh I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the night

I'm the one who makes you laugh when you know you're about to cry

I know your favorite songs and you tell me about your dreams

I think I know where you belong. I think it's with me.

Abby was glad she was there for him when he needed her…

Can't you see that I'm the one who understands you?

Been here all along so why can't you see?

You belong with me

… And she's glad she understands him better than anyone…

Standin' by, waitin' at your back door

All this time how could you not know that?

You belong with me

You belong with me

….But how could he not realize…

Have you ever thought just maybe?

You belong with me

You belong with me

…What she did…
