So characters are going to be a little bit OC, I need them to be to fit my story. Anyways, please review and tell me how you like it.
Disclaimer: I own nothing besides the plot.
Alex laid on her bed fidgeting with the quilt beneath her body. It was warm and welcoming just like her older brother; Justin. Speaking of Justin, she was feeling something which she knew was new. She felt, she felt, she actually felt guilty this time.
It was only a few hours ago Justin walked through the loft doors announcing he had been dumped by Juliet-
Theresa was in the kitchen making spicy enchiladas and baked chicken while Jerry was on the lazy boy chair his leg crossed over the other and a sports magazine in his hands as his eyes hurriedly scanned over the pictures and small sentences. Max was at the kitchen table on the small platform fork in his hand eyeing their mother's every move anticipating the moment she put the enchiladas on the table ready for consuming. Alex was lying on the longer orange sofa on leg hanging off the edge while the other one was slightly bent, fashion magazine put on her stomach while her face was towards the TV remote in hand watching the fashion channel. It was only 2 minutes later the front door opened revealing a distressed Justin. Alex was first to speak.
"Dude, what happened to you?"
Justin just glanced at her and took his shoes off, he said nothing back besides a grunt.
"Mija, what happened?" Theresa asked concern evident in her voice.
Justin shrugged, "Juliet just dumped me."
"What? Why? I thought she was happy to be back. Especially after what happened in Transylvania, how she got old and hobbled into the forest." Jerry exclaimed as he put the magazine on his knee and gave his son his full attention.
Max chuckled, "hey Justin, why don't you just go on WizFace and find another girlfriend? You know how that always works out for you."
Alex chuckled at her little brother's comment, oh the way she loved Max was unbelievable. Strange kid but so, so funny!
"Max, no. I'm not going to replace Juliet. I can never, she's my everything. I-I-I love her; I can't believe she's gone, again!" Justin said going into shock, Theresa rounded the kitchen counter and hugged her son.
"Well!" Alex started as she stood up, "You got dumped. Oh well Justin, it happens. You and Juliet weren't even that good of a match, wizard and vampire. It just doesn't click to me. You should get a girl that isn't five thousand years old!" She laughed and high fived Max as she passed him to walk into the kitchen to steal a piece of chicken.
Justin snapped his head towards Alex almost giving himself whiplash, "She's two thousand years old for your information, and I can't believe you'd say that –actually, no I can believe you'd say that. You're Alex; you don't care about anyone's feelings besides your own!"
Alex rolled her eyes, "Oh give me a break Justin. I care about many people's feelings. Just not yours, you're just there to me. An accessory to my life."
Justin's heart sank, "I'm your brother!"
Alex shrugged, "Juliet is your ex."
"What if it were Mason to break up with you? Then you'd know how I feel. Remember when he left and turned into full wolf. You know what it feels like so why hurt me so bad?"
Alex sighed, "As I said you guys didn't look good anyways so it shouldn't matter."
"You and Mason didn't look good!"
Alex laughed, "Oh you humor me Justin. Mason was a werewolf I'm a wizard. At least we both started with W!"
Justin shrugged, "So? You still looked ugly together!"
"ALEX JUSTIN, STOP IT!" Theresa shouted as she held her head. "You guys are brother and sister. You shouldn't be fighting like this. It isn't good. Stop it!"
"Alex started it!"
"Justin had it coming!"
"That's enough! Both of you upstairs and get ready for dinner!"
"What? Mom, we were joking!" Justin said trying to keep his mother from putting them in punishment. Alex shook her head, "The only thing around here that's a joke is you!" Alex said as she stormed up the stairs angrily.
She didn't mean it; she didn't know why she said it. Heat of the moment maybe? All she knows is she regrets it. She loves Justin, she didn't want him to get angry, and she didn't want him to hate her. She didn't want her family to hate her but she had angry problems and everyone knew that.
As a little girl Alex took anger management classes and she successfully graduated only 4 years later. She is better but she still had issues controlling her angry, especially around Justin. He just keeps bringing home girls right after the other and it's so annoying to watch him make out with these girls and then lead them to his bedroom which is just across the hall from her own, all night she'd hear him going at it and he was just lucky Jerry snores so he couldn't hear and Theresa sleeps with ear plugs so she couldn't hear either. Max is a dead sleeper so he wouldn't wake up during an earthquake.
Then he met Juliet so the random girls would stop and it would be forever Juliet 24/7 and she didn't know why her family liked Juliet so much she was so perfect and annoying and preppy. Don't get her wrong; Alex liked Juliet at first too that was until Justin introduced her as his 'steady girlfriend' Alex couldn't help but grin at his introduction but it still annoyed her.
After Juliet Justin became only focused on her and he had no time for Alex anymore which as guessed didn't fly by so easily with Alex. She was angry beyond comprehension and if she could she would get rid of Juliet herself. However she knew she couldn't, that would cause her brothers happiness and possibly WizJail. She wasn't willing to go away. So Alex started acting up, getting into more messes with spells that Harper would run to Justin about or Justin would just find out on his own and he'd had to fix it for her because who is she kidding Justin would always be her safety net whether he knew it or not.
Point is she felt guilty for what she said to Justin and she wanted to make it up to him, she just didn't know how.
Alex was sitting in her bedroom, she just got yelled at by her parents and every time she did get yelled at she'd run to her room knowing no one could enter without her permission. It made her feel safe.
She didn't mean to hurt Max, he just happened to be in the way. Bad timing. Her plan was to hurt Justin she set up a contraption, well the best contraption a ten year old could set up. It wasn't her fault Max picked up the pineapple which set off a string alarm causing everything to get knocked over making a bucket tip, watery slime to fall on the floor, a chair to flip and for an 8 year old Max to step into a bucket and get stuck under a booth which ultimately made him hit his head on the table giving him a bump and a headache.
Max snitched on her of course and Alex had no chance to explain she planned this for Justin and not her little brother because she likes Max way more than she ever did Justin. They just shouted and told her to go to her room telling her she was embarrassing them in front of the sub shop costumers.
'It wasn't my fault!' Alex thought as she ran to her room past Justin who stood there watching the whole scene. Alex fell on her bed and let the tears fall, she was a horrible child and she couldn't help it.
Not even ten minutes later she heard a faint knock on the door and it opened without her command, she didn't dare look who it was. In fear it was one or both of her parents she didn't want to see them, they got her so angry.
The person that opened the door sat gently on the side of Alex's bed and placed a hand on her back. Alex got goose bumps, it wasn't mom or dad but she knew exactly who it was.
"It was meant for you!" Alex croaked out as she cleared her throat, "I never meant to hurt Max."
Justin shrugged, "I know. I knew it was for me. I know you'd never hurt Max, he can't take the pain like I do."
Alex heaved in and out, "but I still got into trouble because I'm an embarrassment to the family."
"No, you're not."
Justin shook his head and laid beside his sister taking her in his arms, "You're not Alex."
Alex turned her head and cuddled into her big brother, "Why do you do this? I'm so mean but you still care."
"I'll never stop caring Alex, you're my little sister. You and Max are the most important people to me, I have to look out for you guys."
Alex smiled into his chest, "you're a good big brother Justin."
The twelve year old boy smiled, "I know."
"It's just like kindergarten," Alex broke the two minute silence. Justin's eyebrows rose, "what do you mean?"
"In kindergarten, you get mad at each other for silly things and then forget about it and start playing with each other again. That's me and you, we're like kindergarten."
Justin laughed, "Oh. That's true."
As Justin's laugh died down the two siblings just stayed in silence for hours, eventually falling asleep in a peaceful surrender.
Alex sighed, Justin was always there for her how come she could never be there for him? Justin did need support just like her and Max and she was going to be there for him whether he liked it or not, frankly whether she liked it or not too. Getting out of her bed she opened her door and walked across the hall, only 3 feet. Sighing deeply she opened her brother's room door silently and saw him face down into his bed breathing steadily.
She wanted to back down and think over what she was about to do. Did Justin really want to see her face after everything she said?
"I could never be so mad at you Alex, maybe for minutes but never hold it against you."
Alex shivered at the many memories she's been having and walked over to the bed, she sat down on the side of it and she was sure he felt her presences because he moved his head slightly but not to look at her. She put a hand on his back and rubbed it gently. What surprised her was the fact he allowed her to do it, with no audio he just breathed in a beat still face down into his bed.
Alex was actually glad she got somewhere with her plan she didn't know what to do next though, however only twenty seconds into her thinking her decision was made up for her when Justin abruptly turned around and grabbed her waist pulling her into him both of them on their sides facing each other he cuddled her and buried his face into her hair, he didn't want to speak. He just wanted company, he felt shitty.
Alex buried her face into his neck as she let tears escape her face, she didn't know why she was crying she just knew she felt really bad for what she did to Justin only a few hours ago.
"I'm so, so sorry Justin," she whispered as she stroked the back of his hair, in a way he liked. He shook his head as if telling her not to say it, "I know you are. I knew you were since the first time you went into your room."
Alex sniffled, "I didn't mean to say any of those horrible things. I-I just don't know why I said them."
Justin silenced her by rubbing a soft spot on her back, "It's okay Alex. I'm sorry too."
"Can we please go back to how we were before? Laughing and pranking each other please."
Justin only smiled into his little sister's hair, "Like kindergarten," he smiled at the memory. Alex nodded in conformation, "Yeah, just like that. Just like kindergarten."
Depending on the amount of reviews I get I might add onto the story. Possibly.
