Disclaimer: This is complete and total FICTION. That means it never happened and is completely untrue. In fact, this is so far from the truth that it isn't even in the same country as the truth. I don't own anybody: Big Time Rush, the characters, and all referenced scenes belong to Nickelodeon, and I make no money off of this. I am not in any way implying said characters' sexual identities.

Everyone knew about Kendall's addiction to beanies and Vans (and the friendship bracelets the fans made), but no one knew the other thing he hoarded: candles.

It had started so simply: he forgot to give his mom the candle he'd bought for her while they were on tour. Then, one night, he needed to relax, so he turned out all the lights and lit the candle. He enjoyed the zen-like, calm atmosphere it brought. Plus, it made the place smell nice (it was a vanilla candle). Thus began the addiction.

He'd go buy a bunch and hide them in his bag; when no one was home (or awake on the bus), he'd burn one. He was always careful- he always had an eye on it at all times, and he always made sure it was out before he fell asleep. If anyone asked why it smelled like smoke (after he'd blown it out), he'd lie and say he burned something on the stove, which was believable, so no one questioned it.

Getting caught was a complete accident. It was actually a two-part deal. First, his mom told Logan, Carlos, and James that she'd never gotten a candle from Kendall when they asked her about it; Kendall thought they were all asleep, so he lit a candle and relaxed, listening to some music, letting the stress of the day melt away. Carlos, Logan, and James came into the room and found him. Logan tapped Kendall on the shoulder. Kendall took out the earbuds and immediately turned beet red, going to blow out the candle. "Uh, guys, I can explain."

"Stop." James said, grabbing the glass plate that held the candle. "It's ok. We don't care. Why'd you hide it though?"

"Come on, what sane guy burns candles?" Kendall asked. All three of the others looked at Kendall. "We do."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Ocean breeze reminds me of Cali." James said.

"Lavender reminds me of the dryer sheets my mom used to use," added Logan.

"Warm apple pie makes me think of my mom's food." Carlos said. "See, so it's ok. We all do it. It's just, we don't do it as often."

"I wondered." Kendall laughed. "I'd smell things and think, 'Well, I didn't burn a candle today yet'." They laughed and Logan added, " I love watching it burn at night before I go to bed. It calms me down and helps me sleep."

"Me too." Kendall agreed.

"So, it's all ok then?" Kendall asked. "You guys aren't weirded out by my hoarding?"

"No, just, let's burn all the ones we have before we buy new ones, ok?" James asked.

"Ok." Kendall agreed. Suddenly, having an addiction to candles wasn't so bad if his three best friends had the same problem.
