DN: Hey guys, what's up? I was playing Final Fantasy the other day and inspiration smacked me upside the head so I hope you like this. It's based on '1000 words' from Final Fantasy ten-two, where Lenne and Yuna sing together.

(.F.F.X.2. page break.)

Feliciano sat at his window, staring out at the grey clouds that cried rain onto the earth. Since Germany left to fight Russia, he'd felt so alone. The last three years were nothing but tasteless pasta and mute tears. His world was falling apart without Ludwig; nothing seemed the same any more. He'd barely eaten anything for days, as he did a lot lately and the Italian had become deathly thin and pale. Thunder rolled in eventually and lightning cracked against the sky, but still, Feliciano continued to sit and stare out his window. The only thing that mattered to him anymore was that Ludwig came home.

I know that you're hiding things

Using gentle words to shelter me

Your words were like a dream

But dreams could never fool me...

Not that easily…

I acted so distant then

Didn't say good-bye before you left

But I was listening

You fight your battles far from me...

Far too easily…

The rain just kept coming down, the sky now black and cloudy, and the lightning flashed every once in a while. The loud noises used to scare him, and then he'd run to Ludwig who would cradle him and show him the little awkward affection that the German could bring himself to bestow. Now Feliciano wanted nothing but that embrace ever again. He wanted the muscular blonde to hold him, to coddle him and kiss him, to love him. He knew Ludwig loved him, and he knew he loved Ludwig, but… it was hard to be without someone you've dedicated your life to for three years.

'Save your tears 'Cause I'll come back'

I could hear that you whispered

As you walked through that door

But still I swore to hide that pain

When I turn back the pages

Shouting might've been the answer then

What if I cried my eyes out and begged you not to depart

But now I'm not afraid to say what's in my heart...

Feliciano finally stopped watching the window at 6:47 in favor of taking a shower, even though most of his brain was sure that Ludwig wouldn't be coming back at all. He turned the water on, making it as cold as possible, and washed himself. He didn't want to feel anything that was warm if it wasn't Ludwig. His shower lasted a very icy and uneventful twenty minutes and then he went and lay down in his bed. Clothed. Feliciano hated wearing clothes when Ludwig was around because he knew that Ludwig loved all his little Italian quirks but now that he wasn't here, there wasn't much meaning in trying to be happy or quirky anymore. He never got more than an hour of sleep and there were never any dreams.

Cause a thousand words

Call out through the ages

They'll fly to you

Even though we can't see I know they're reaching you

Suspended on silver wings

Feliciano woke up not forty minutes after he lay down, and sat back up to watch the darkened clouds. It was morning, but no sun came out. It was early, yet, not one bird could be heard. It started raining again, but something was different. A small ray of sunshine cut through that grayed sky like knife, flooding the dark land below with hope. Feliciano kept his brown eyes focused on that light, hoping it'd leave him to his sulking soon. But as he watched, the ray gradually grew and was joined by a few other ones, illuminating the green trees and blooming life below. As the last dark cloud dissolved into azure sky, he spotted something glimmering on the road's horizon.

And a thousand words

Call out through the ages

They'll cradle you

Turning all of the lonely years to only days

They'll hold you forever

As the auburn-haired Italian watched this glimmering object, it grew in size and gradually morphed into the shape of a man. A well-built man with golden-blonde hair and a green military jacket. Ludwig. Feliciano jumped off of his bed and ran down the stairs, hopping over his cat Pookie and flying past all the furniture. He ripped open the front door, and there stood the one thing he'd been waiting three years to see. His gorgeous German boyfriend and the love of his life. Ludwig looked down at Feliciano and cupped his frail face in his hands.

"Ludwig, you're…here…you c-came home…" Feliciano's voice began to crack, and tears overflowed from his cinnamon eyes.

"Yes, I'm here Mein Leibe. And I'll never leave you again."
