Hey, my fellow otakus! This being my first fan-fic, I made it a short look into the mind of Ed when he first woke up in the Rockbell's care. It's rated K 'cause there's nothing of interest in it. I hope you guys like it!

I opened my eyes, gasping for air. It just couldn't be real. None of it. It couldn't be real! I sat in bed panting, staring up at the ceiling. So far, everything was normal. My arm was cold, though. I reached for the blanket by my side and it found that it was already up over my shoulders. It rested my left hand on the right side of my waist, needing to make sure I was wrong, but to scared to find out that I was right. I slowly inched my hand up my side, first to my ribs, then my shoulder. I gasped when my hand reached it. Where my arm should start, there was nothing. Just a stump, wrapped in slightly damp bandages. I raised my hand in front of my face so I could look at it. In the moonlight, I could see the blood on my fingers. "Alphonse," I cried out, sitting up, looking for my brother. "Alphonse?" "I'm right here, brother," I heard him say. His voice was coming out of a suit of armor. I started crying and buried my face in my hands. So it was true. I was so stupid. I pulled off the covers and jumped down to the floor, only ending up on my face. "Brother," Al shouted, coming to help my up as my nose started bleeding. The door burst open then. "I heard shouting, what's going on?" granny asked. She saw me crying on the floor, blood leaking from my nose. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," I whimpered, hanging my head. She came over to me, changed the bandages on my shoulder, treated my bloody nose, and told me to go back to sleep. Al stayed with me for all of this, his hand on my shoulder. When granny left, I put my hand on his arm. The metal was cold. So there really wasn't a person in there after all. "I'm sorry, Al," I whispered. "I should've known better." "It'll be ok," he said. "I think we can make this right again." I nodded. We weren't gonna go down without a fight.
