"What are you reading, pet?" Spike asked, walking into the apartment after a night of poker.

Xander didn't look up from his book. "Macbeth," he answered. Spike didn't say anything causing Xander to look up. "What?"

Spike looked skeptically at Xander. "You're reading Macbeth?"

"Yes," Xander replied, still looking at Spike.

"Shakespeare's Macbeth?" Spike asked, clarifying.

Xander huffed in annoyance. "YES!"

"Because you like it," Xander said.

Spike sat on the couch beside Xander. "Not quite understanding, Xan."

Xander set the book down. "You're all smart and know like a dozen different languages. I just don't want you realizing how stupid I really am," Xander explained with a sigh.

"Oh, pet." Spike took the book from Xander's hands. "I could never think you were stupid."

"You always told me I was when we were in the basement," Xander pointed out.

"It wasn't because you were stupid. I was just trying to hurt you. I never meant it. I'm sorry, pet," Spike said sincerely.

Xander smiled sadly. "I deserved it though. It's not like I was nice to you back then, was I?"

"You've made up for it since then, haven't you?" Spike asked with a leer.

"Stop leering! I'm still trying to read. It's really getting good," Xander said grabbing the book back.

Spike sat back and watched Xander read for several minutes. "Be honest, how much do you really understand?"

"Well…. I understand the plot," Xander confessed.

"Come on, pet, put the book away. You don't like it, I can tell. Don't try to change because you think I'll like it. I love you the way you are," Spike said, coaxing Xander to put the book down.

Xander was hesitant. "Are you sure?"

"Course I'm sure! If I wanted someone who enjoyed Shakespeare I'd have seduced the watcher," Spike said. When Xander just stared at him in horror he continued. "I'm joking, pet! Bloody hell, get a sense of humor!" Spike grumbled.

Xander unzipped Spike's jeans before kneeling on the floor in front of him. "What are you doing, Xan?" Though it was obvious what Xander was doing.

"Reminding you why you're with me," Xander explained and wrapped his lips around Spike.

"Fuck yeah! Best cocksucker. Oh! Do that again!" Spike growled as Xander sucked on the tip. A few more sucks and Xander pulled away and stood up. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Spike cried.

Xander wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "Think of this as punishment for thinking of Giles. Now I'm going to read the new X-Men comic book I got."

"You get your bloody arse back here!" Spike yelled. With a huff Spike stood, his jeans around his ankles. "Come on, luv!" No response. "Can I suck on you while you read your comic?" he asked hopefully.

Xander's head popped back into the room. "Well, come on then!"

Spike grinned and chased after Xander.
