A/N: Hello! Here's a little thank you for those who've reviewed and added "Emerald and Onyx" to their favorites. This will probably be the last one-shot I'll post in a couple of weeks, since I'm planning on posting a real fic (like, with chapters) and I'm still finalizing the plot. I hope you'll like it!

Disclaimer: There would be little Uchiha brats (with pink/raven hair & black/green eyes of course) running around Konoha by now if I owned Naruto.

"Don't you remember, Sasuke-kun?"

.

ten.
It was the first day of school. Young ninjas ran in the usually quiet hallways of the prestigious academy.

The children hesitantly took their seats as Iruka-sensei entered the room, while some took their pens and notebooks out, hoping to start the year right.

Although she was a few rows away from him, Sakura spent the whole day staring at the back of the chicken-butt haired kid's head.

.

nine.
Classes usually begin at 10am, and the students would start filing in a few minutes before the dreaded bell. Except for two.

Uchiha Sasuke always got there early, in order to occupy the window seat in the front row. His loud obnoxious best friend would then take the seat to his right.

Knowing this, Haruno Sakura, who always comes to school at around 9am, will then contentedly take the seat behind the quiet boy.

.

eight.
At 8 years old, Sakura has lost her first best friend over a trivial crush. She does not care, as she tries her best to win his affections.

At 8 years old, Sasuke lost everything. almost.

A ramen obsessed blonde.

A pink haired fangirl.

A brooding boy.

A teacher that was always late.

What a dysfunctional team they were. But they made things happen, for they are Team 7, and they are a family.

And family means no one gets left behind...

...or forgotten.

His whole body ached. His veins were pulsating with something unknown. He was lost in his world full of tragedies and hurt.

A world that she didn't belong in.

Don't come too close to the darkness.

His eyes cracked open, and the first thing he sees is her. Black orbs immediately washed to red.

"Sakura. Who did that to you?"

"Sasuke-kun? Your body..."

The angered boy launched into a impromptu I-am-an-avenger speech, when all he wanted to do was to make the person who inflicted this much pain on her die.

"Sakura, say it! Who the hell hurt you?"

"It was me."

six minutes later, Sakura had her arms around him, and was begging him to stop.

five.
The bowls of ramen Naruto had consumed not knowing his (best friend) rival was planning to leave the village.

The bowls of ramen Naruto consumed happily, not knowing that his crush's heart got (ripped off and stepped on and stabbed with a thousand kunais and got chidori/d and rasengan/ed) broken.

The bowls of ramen Naruto consumed without knowing.

anything. at all.

.

.

.

four.
The years it took Sasuke to finally accomplish his goal. Time for the next one.

The years it took for him to finally be free of the burden that was unmercifully brought on his young shoulders.

The years it took Sasuke to come back to Konoha, his home.

The years it took the last Uchiha to come back to Team 7, his family.

The years it took for Sasuke to finally open his eyes. And heart.

.

.

three.
Sakura avoided Sasuke at all costs.

She wasn't prepared to see him yet. Her heart wasn't.

She couldn't ask another medic to take care of him while he was in the hospital (man, did Naruto beat him up). Strangely, he refused medical attention from the others.

But dammit, who could resist a romantic dinner with the Uchiha Sasuke?

The measly walls that she put up started crumbling down.

'damndamndamndamndamn'

But when Sasuke reached over to hold her hand, she figured it wasn't that bad.

She smiles.

'Note to self: Thank the dobe and Kakashi later.'

It only took him three weeks to rekindle their lost bond.

And surprisingly, it only took three months until she said yes.

.

.

.

two.
No one approved of their marriage. As they walked through the crowded streets of the village, the people would immediately snicker behind their hands and point at them, they don't even try to hide their disgust.

She smiles through it all. He settles for a soft smirk.

They don't care. Their (ino's shikamaru's chouji's tenten's lee's neji's hinata's kiba's shino's kurenai's sai's tsunade's shizune's...) opinions do not matter.

Naruto and Kakashi were the only ones (besides them) smiling during their wedding.

And that's more than enough.

.

one.
As Sasuke watches his wife sleeping soundly on his chest, his heart decides that Sakura will be the only girl that will occupy it.

But he'll make an exception for his soon-to-be-daughter(s).

"Don't you remember, Sasuke-kun?"
"Remember what?"
"How we fell in love?"
"Hn. Annoying."
"B-but.."
"I'll never forget, idiot."
