Shuffling through the front door, Victoria finally arrived home from her late night attendance at the annual benefit hosted by the local politicians. She closed the door and tossed her keys on the small, wooden chair next to it. She sighed heavily. Melanie, who sat on the couch, greeted her.

"How was the banquet?"

"Oh my God, I've never been so tired of pretending to care in my life." Victoria droned. She walked to the couch and threw herself down with a huff. "So many names, too many people, and not a single one of them asked for my autograph!"

"Aw, I'm sorry honey," Melanie reached over and touched Victoria's arm. "But I'm glad that you kept your promise." She gave her an appreciative half-smile. Victoria returned the gesture, patting Melanie's hand.

"Thanks, Melanie. I guess this 'helping others' gets me one step closer to a Newsy." Grimacing, Victoria lifted her feet to the coffee table. "If only my feet were what they use to be. My heels might need surgically removed." She reached from them.

Carefully, Victoria removed the black polished, four-inch stilettos from her aching feet. Wiggling her toes, she gave a sigh of relief. "Ohh," Her face contoured in pain as she rolled her ankles, "No shoes tomorrow."

Grabbing one of the pillows, Melanie placed it in her lap.

"Come on," she coaxed, gesturing for Victoria to rest her feet on the pillow. Stiffly, and without much coaxing, Victoria turned her body towards Melanie, her feet coming to rest on the plush, sage pillow. Picking the other pillow from the floor, Victoria wedged it between the arm of the couch and her back.

"You wouldn't believe how boring it was. I interviewed at least of dozen people. If their points-of-view has been any more wish-washy, my dry-clean-only dress would have been ruined."

Melanie laughed, bringing her hands to Victoria's feet. "I completely understand."

Victoria hissed at the contact," You're hands are cold."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Melanie apologized, releasing Victoria's arch.

"No, no, it feels good. Please, continue."

"Ok."

Melanie grasped her foot again. She brought her thumbs to the soles of her foot, pressing along the arch. Starting near the heel, Melanie stroked upward, easing the tension and pressure from the heel. Victoria wiggled her toes, stimulating more blood flow.

"Oooh, that feels wonderful!" Victoria lulled her head back.

"Why, did you where those?" Melanie asked, digging in deeper, this time, starting at the ball of the foot and working down.

"Well why not?" Victoria made a valid point. Melanie shrugged, still rubbing Victoria's foot. Victoria rested back a little, appreciating the soothing touch. Melanie concentrated on her technique, switching between smooth wide stokes and pressure points. Victoria growled.

"You have no idea how wonderful it feels to have someone rub your feet, and actually know what needs rubbed. Melanie chuckled and pressed again.
