Light in the Darkness

Disclaimer: I don't own the Vampire Diaries. I'm just borrowing. Only the story belongs to me.
Note: Hey, guys, thought I'd do a Delena story. I got this really weird idea while I was taking a bath and I wanted to write it. Yeah, I know, I'm weird. This, of course, is an AU and the plot centers around Damon turning off his humanity and kidnaps Elena, taking her to an island. No spoilers, just follow along.
Elena brushed her hair as she looked in the mirror while going about her normal bedtime routine. After she was done, she sighed, thinking about the day ahead of her tomorrow. Suddenly, she got the strange feeling that she wasn't alone in the house tonight. The thing was, who could possibly be in the house with her? Elena certainly didn't remember inviting anyone over at this ungodly hour, so why would she suddenly have the feeling that there was someone here? Shaking her head, she tried to dismiss it as nothing except maybe the spirits that were hanging around the place, like those of her parents and Jenna.
Elena entered her bedroom and the strange feeling returned, only now it was stronger than it was a few minutes ago. What the hell?
Elena gasped as she heard a voice and looking in the direction of the sound, she saw Damon sitting on her bed. Only he looked different. There was something about him that wasn't right. Before she could wonder what it was, the answer hit her hard. This was not the Damon she knew.
"Oh God," she said. "You...turned off your humanity. Why?"
"Oh, and that's a shock to you?" he replied. "I thought you'd like this new me?"
Elena trembled a bit. She didn't like this new Damon. In fact, she was all out scared of him. "No, this isn't you, Damon. Just tell me why you've suddenly turned off your humanity."
"Maybe it was because I was tired of always being told I was worthless," said Damon. "I couldn't take the pain anymore, so I figured the hell with it, I'll just shut the damn thing off, embrace what I really am." He saw Elena backing up toward her door and, using his vampire speed, got there before her and shut it, locking it. "Nuh uh, you're not going anywhere." He grabbed her wrist and held it in a vice grip. "No, wait, you are going somewhere...with me."
"Let go of me, Damon," said Elena. "Please, you don't want to do this."
"I don't, huh?" said Damon. "Well, that's too bad, isn't it? Because I'm already doing it." He turned her around, twisting her wrist behind her back and clamping his hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming. "You're coming with me and I won't take no for an answer." He looked into her eyes and used his compulsion power on her. "Sleep."
That being said, Elena felt lightheaded and as much as she tried to fight it, she couldn't and fell limp in Damon's arms.
Damon carried Elena onto the plane, looking down at her unconscious form. He didn't even know why he was doing this, kidnapping an innocent girl and forcing her to come along with him. If he still had control, he wouldn't have done what he did. However, because he shut off his humanity, he wasn't feeling anything, not even a tinge of guilt. Once they boarded the plane, Damon placed Elena in her seat and buckled her in, sitting in the seat across the aisle and buckling his seat belt. He then heard her groan a bit, looking to see if she was awake, but she was still out.
After a while, the plane took off and no sooner were they airborne than Elena regained consciousness. She panicked, not knowing exactly where she was. That is, until she looked out the window. Holy shit, she wasn't even on the ground anymore! She then looked over and saw Damon sitting there. At least she knew how she got here.
Damon looked at her. "Well, look who's awake."
Elena scowled at him. "Damon, what the hell is going on here? Why are we on a plane?"
"We're going on a little trip."
"Oh no, no! There's no way in hell I'm going along with you! This is kidnapping, you asshole!"
"Call it whatever you want, Elena," said Damon. "It's not going to mean a damn thing."
"Where are we going?" said Elena. "What kind of game are you playing at here?"
"You'll know soon enough," said Damon. "Now, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the trip."
Elena maintained her scowl. "I may not know what's going on here, but I will not stand for it!"
She didn't give Damon a chance to reply, just sat back against the chair. Although she didn't know just what the hell Damon was planning, she had a feeling that she was going to find out whether she wanted to not.
What do you think? I know, crazy, but I wanted to do something different.
Let me know what you think!
