Oh! And try listening to This Is Gallifrey whilst reading this! It will seem sooo much cuter and better! First glimpse of Snowana and the Doctor as a couple!
The Doctor Dances and Time Lord Nightmares
Amy and Rory poured over books underneath the TARDIS console as Snowana talked into the phone on the console to somebody she met on her travels and the Doctor typed on the keyboard, searching for information on the monitor.
"It says here that the keys all represented a crime of the Time Lords. There was a Key of Pride, a Key of Injustice. There was a Key of Power and a Key of Exile. There was a Key of Knowledge and a Key of Wisdom. And last and greatest of all, there was the Key of Nevermore," Rory read aloud and Snowana detached the Key of Nevermore from her necklace and grasped it tightly.
"Told that idiot I should have it," she giggled to herself and threw it to the Doctor who tossed it in a glass jar balanced on the passenger chair.
"So, Snowana, where will the keys be?" Amy asked the Time Lady who hung up the phone and danced down the stairs and seated herself in the swinging seat and began to sway back and forwards.
"All over time and space basically," she smiled and the humans moaned.
"Oh cheer up Ponds!" the Doctor called cheerfully as a few sparks came flying out from the keyboard and some smoke billowed outwards shortly afterwards. "We know what we're looking for! We just have no idea where…" he trailed off, looking disappointed. Rolling her eyes, Snowana grabbed a book and flicked through a few pages, looking bored. The humans seemed to be getting more and more tired, eyelids fluttering and mouths stifling huge yawns. Spying this out of the corner of her eye, the Time Lady proceeded to kneel down next to where they sat on the glass floor and gently took the books off of them.
"Go on you two," she sighed and lifted Rory to his feet, stumbling a little under his weight and Amy moaned as she got to her feet.
"But Snowana," Amy began and yawned. "We need to plan what the course of action is and how we're going to get hold of these keys."
Smiling sympathetically, the Time Lady led her favourite humans up to the console and pushed them in the direction of their bedroom.
"The Universe can wait," she replied and turned her back on them and skipped back the way she had come. Shrugging, Amy and Rory shuffled sleepily down the corridor; desperate to get some sleep. Both Time Lords kept studying and researching and planning the way they would get the keys. After hours of searching up various myths and legends from many planets, they collapsed into the chairs on the glass floor.
"I hate not knowing what to do!" the Doctor exclaimed and comically wiped some sweat from his forehead as Snowana rolled her eyes and kicked her feet up onto the console keyboard and the TADRIS began to emit a wheezing noise. Angrily, the Doctor kicked his feet at hers and they slipped, hitting a button. A soft strumming of a guitar filled the air and several violins soon followed.
The music continually spewed from the speakers as both Time Lords jumped as the music became more intense and climatic. Grinning broadly, the Doctor leapt to his feet and offered his hand to his fellow Gallifreyan. Smirking, she took his hand and he guided her down to the main floor area and he unlocked the doors so they could clearly see some stars that were brightly twinkling in the pitch black night sky. The duo began to dance; the Doctor took one of her hands and placed the other on her slim waist. She grabbed the Doctor's hand and placed the other on his tweed covered shoulder. Both Time Lords spun around and Snowana smirked as the Doctor dipped her towards the ground and he winked at her.
Scooping her back up in his arms, he held her close to him and they spun gently on the spot. Everything went calm as the music continually came from the speakers. The music came to a sudden halt and they both stared at each other, drinking in the other's tired appearance. Ever so slowly, the Doctor began to lean down towards Snowana's parted lips and her eyelids fluttered shut. His warm breath tickled her lips and the closeness between them showed a deep desire both the Doctor and Snowana felt.
There were inches between them and the Doctor gulped as he shut his eyes and braced himself for the sweet impact between them, when suddenly there was an almighty crash. With a yelp, the Time Lady was released and collapsed onto the floor in a confused heap and the Doctor blushed, looking startled to find a tired Rory standing near the console, looking embarrassed.
"I was just looking for- never mind! Goodnight!" he awkwardly blurted out and hurriedly sprinted back the way he had come. Snowana leapt to her feet and brushed herself down. Refusing to make eye contact with the Doctor, she quickly brushed past him.
"Night!" she squeaked and promptly ran down the familiar hallway that led to her bedroom. She covered her now pink face and entered her black and white bedroom, before throwing herself down onto the soft bed. Laying there for a while, she kicked off her shoes and curled up into a ball.
Angrily, the Doctor stormed around the TARDIS console and recalled how close he had been to Snowana and the warmth radiating from her beautiful body. Smacking the pointless green buttons, he swore loudly and glared at his machine. A soothing sound echoed from the speakers and the Time Lord sighed. The Doctor knew what his beloved machine wanted him to do.
Briskly walking, he turned down various corridors and found himself in front of a smooth wooden door. Opening it as quietly as he could, he found himself inside the spacious room that the TARDIS had formed for its newest resident. Lying on the wide bed was her. The Time Lord could tell that she was sleeping form the deepness of her breathing and the peaceful expression on her face. Smiling to himself, the Oncoming Storm brushed her silky brown hair from her face and she shifted slightly, pulling herself onto his lap. Flabbergasted, he paused for a moment and then pulled her shoulders up onto his lap.
They stayed like this for a few minutes when suddenly, she twitched violently. Frowning to himself, he pressed his hands to her temples and shut his eyes. A horrible image flew to the front of his mind. There was him, lying down on sandy ground. There was blood. Lots of it. Flowing freely and quickly from his chest. Staining his paisley shirt scarlet. His eyes were repeatedly opening and shutting. He felt her anguish and pain as though it were his own. His own voice. "Eos… don't leave me,"
Jolting sharply, he was snapped back into the present to find Snowana gasping and crying, gazing up at him. He hugged her tightly.
"What is it?" he asked gently.
"Oh Theta! You were dead and saying my name. It was entirely my fault!" she sobbed and clutched the front of his shirt as though it was a life line. Shifting slightly, he clutched the Time Lady closer to his hearts.
"Eos, it's okay," he reassured her and her head shot upwards. Anger seemed to ignite in her eyes.
"What did you call me?" she snapped. He went to reply when suddenly, she shoved him backwards and leant over him, holding a dagger at his throat. Sighing to himself, he made a note to himself to remove the weapons from the library. "How could you know?"
"I watched your nightmare. Do you care that much?" he asked and the blade was pressed further into the skin of his throat. "I apologize! Please!"
Her eyebrows narrowed and she stepped away from him, dropping the weapon. He shuffled up and away, looking at her for some reply.
"Go!" she urged and he bolted for the doorway and ran to his quarters, not looking back.
It was sweet while it lasted; eh? I promise they will recognise their feelings properly. Damn Time Lords being difficult!
Eos is the dawn goddess and I imagined that would be a nice Gallifreyan name for Snowana.
Well, until next time…
