Hello, and welcome to the alternate ending for My Very Best Friends! I recommend that you read My Very Best Friends before you read this. This takes place after Solar Flare (evil Celestia) smashes the elements.
I do not own My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the pitch bible ponies, or emeralddarkness' Legend of Solar Flare picture.
Twilight watched horror-stricken as the elements were smashed to bits by Solar Flare. Tears were starting to run down her face. I can't believe it, Twilight thought, The others and I came all this way... just for THIS to happen!
As the reality of the situation began to sink in, the world around Twilight started to fade. Her vision became blurry, and her other senses faded as well.
I'm never going to see those ponies again, or my family, or Luna, Twilight thought, I just want them to know that they are the best things that a mare could ask for.
With that thought, Twilight's eyes closed and her body crashed to the ground. Everything went pitch black.
Solar Flare watched Twilight fall to the ground. She had known all of this time that the pathetic filly would be no match for her - but still, Solar Flare thought that she might as well examine her enemy.
As Solar Flare trotted up to Twilight's unconscious body, a voice in her head begged, "Don't do this."
Solar Flare growled. The voice was her poignant good side, Celestia. Normally, she pushed Celestia behind her other thoughts, and this is what she did now.
When Solar Flare got to Twilight and was just about to use the spell she needed, Celestia intruded with another thought. This thought said, "I'm begging you. This is a bad idea!"
"Shut up," Solar Flare whispered, "I don't need you."
"Yes you do!" Celestia yelled, "We are both halves of the same whole. You need to think-"
"SHUT UP!" Solar Flare thought. Finally, that nagging voice in her head disappeared. Solar Flare sighed, and went back to Twilight. Then, she cast a spell that would give her access to Twilight's memories.
Solar Flare watched as a bunch of memories came into her head. One memory in particular was the most significant. This was the memory of how Twilight got her cutie mark.
Solar Flare watched as Twilight witnessed her first Winter Moon Festival, and then attempted to struggle to cast magic everyday. The next part surprised her. One day, there was a loud explosion from far away. This caused Twilight's power to awaken, and she accidentally cast a spell that sent Canterlot into chaos.
Solar Flare's face slowly twisted into a grin of malicious glee as she watched the hysteria in Canterlot grow. I always knew that Luna's student was capable of so many things, Solar Flare thought, But this is definitely something new!
From other memories, Solar Flare learned about Twilight's family and the reason she came to Ponyville. Suddenly, a thought appeared in her head. Twilight could be a valuable ally, Solar Flare thought, But how will I convince her to cross over to the dark side?
Suddenly, Solar Flare got an idea. I know, she thought, I will use all of her memories against her.
This was when Celestia returned inside her head, and whispered, "No! Please don't do this. You'll be defeated by the other five!"
As that thought emerged, a crashing sound was heard and five other ponies fell into the room.
The first thing Sparkler noticed in the room was the unconscious figure of Twilight. "Twilight!" Sparkler yelled, running up to the unconscious body. When she looked up at Solar Flare, Sparkler growled, "What did you do?"
"Nothing," Solar Flare sneered, "When I destroyed the Elements, she fainted on her own."
"You destroyed the Elements of Harmony?" Surprise yelled in shock.
"We came a long way for nothing!" Firefly groaned.
"Now, I need to leave with this mare," Solar Flare told them, as magic encircled her and Twilight, "There's business that I need to attend with her."
"No there ain't! Ya're goin' ta give us our friend back," Applejack yelled, "And there's nuthin' ya can do 'bout it!"
"Oh spare me your whining," Solar Flare yawned. With that, she teleported away along with Twilight.
The other ponies stared in shock. "What're we gonna do?" Applejack asked.
"I don't know," Sparkler told her, "It looks like we'll have to brave eternal day from now on."
"But...how will the animals or plants survive?" Posey worried.
"We'll find a way," Sparkler comforted. "Now, go ahead and wait for me."
The other four ponies nodded and left the room, leaving Sparkler with the shards of the Elements of Harmony. Sparkler sighed as she took the shards of the Elements, and placed them in a bag that she was carrying.
"I'm sorry, Twilight," Sparkler sighed as she went after the others.
When Twilight came into consciousness, she found herself in Canterlot Castle. Twilight recognized the room as the room she stayed in as a young filly. This room was where she slept while being Princess Luna's faithful student.
Suddenly, the door opened and Solar Flare entered the room.
"You!" Twilight screamed, jumping out of the bed, "What did you do to the others?"
"Nothing. I left them back in the ruins," Solar Flare stated.
Twilight yelled, "Take me back! I need to see Spike and my family!"
"I knew it," Solar Flare scoffed, "You're sad and pitiful without your friends or family surrounding you."
Before Twilight could ask any more questions, Solar Flare continued, "You know, my sister only taught you half of what there is to know about magic."
"What?" Twilight asked, taking a step backwards.
"But if you join me," Solar Flare continued, "I can teach you all there is to know about magic. Even the darkest forms."
"Are you crazy?" Twilight asked, "I'll never join you!"
"And do what? Go back to those ponies that you call your 'friends'?" Solar Flare threw back her head and laughed. "You really believe they would go on an adventure because they trusted you?"
A skeptical expression formed on Twilight's face. Solar Flare continued with, "No, they didn't! They only joined with you for the thrill of an adventure!"
Twilight asked, "They… what?"
Solar Flare continued with, "Your family is actually angry with you. They wish that they could spend much more time with you. Unfortunately, you seem too preoccupied with your so-called studies to care."
Tears began to stream down Twilight's face. "But why would the others do that to me?"
Solar Flare snickered. "Because those ponies are heartless and cruel. They make you think they're good ponies, and then at the toughest moment, they'll turn their backs on you."
All of this was too much for Twilight to handle, and she burst into tears. Now there was nopony to turn to. Her family was probably angry with her, and her friends were probably backstabbing crooks.
Solar Flare went over to Twilight, and began to stroke her cheek with her fiery mane. "Join me, Twilight," Solar Flare told her in a faux sympathetic tone, "And we can give those ungrateful ponies what they deserve."
Twilight's eyes were dull and lifeless, and her voice was almost emotionless. As she cried, she said in a somewhat defeated and barely audible tone, "I'll join you."
Solar Flare laughed wickedly to herself. At the same time, Celestia returned in her thoughts, and asked, "What have you done?"
Somewhere on the opposite side of this dimension, there lay a world where things were different. Instead of Luna sending Celestia to the sun, Celestia sent Luna to the moon. Additionally, a different set of ponies made up the Elements of Harmony.
Celestia watched in horror as the events unfolded. Since she was kind to her subjects all the time, Celestia was genuinely shocked by how cruel and sadistic she could be.
Celestia was also shocked by Solar Flare's treatment of Twilight. When Celestia was with her student, Twilight Sparkle, she treated her almost similarly to how a mother would treat her child. In this dimension, Solar Flare manipulated Twilight with terrible lies.
Celestia felt sorry for the five other ponies and wished that there was a way to help them. Suddenly, she remembered the Elements of Harmony in her dimension.
If Celestia sent her own team to the other Equestria, then they would have the capability to help the other ponies save Twilight. Celestia also expected that they would help the others awaken their elements.
Celestia trotted into her study. She pulled out a quill, a bottle of ink, and a scroll. She wrote:
My most faithful student,
Meet me in Canterlot Castle with your friends. There is something very important that we must talk about.
Celestia then used a spell to send the letter to the appropriate location. After that, Celestia walked to the window. All she had to do now was wait.
And that's our prologue! Next time, we meet everyone, and the adventure begins!
