Last time, the two Twilights managed to confront Solar Flare. However, Solar Flare forced the duo to watch their friends, who were mind controlled, treat them like dirt. After freeing everypony, the Elements of Harmony revealed themselves, and Solar Flare was finally defeated.
I don't own My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the pitch bible ponies, or emeralddarkness' Legend of Solar Flare picture.
Chapter 10: Goodbye... For Now
"PRINCESS!" Twilight Sparkle cried, running up to Princess Celestia, "I thought I was going to lose you forever!"
Celestia only smiled as she embraced her faithful student.
Suddenly, a dark figure flew into the room. It was an alicorn that looked similar to Celestia, but was smaller and slightly different. The room fell into total silence.
The other Twilight smiled and yelled, "PRINCESS LUNA!" She ran up to Luna, leading to some confused reactions from her friends.
"Wait a moment," Firefly clarified, "You know Princess Luna?"
The other Twilight nodded. "She's my teacher!"
"'Tis the truth," Luna confirmed, "Now, Twilight. Thou hath important matters to discuss with me."
Pinkie shared nervous looks with Surprise. The other Twilight asked, "Princess, do you know what happened?"
Luna nodded. "I know enough." The other Twilight looked away sadly.
The other Celestia walked over to Luna. "It's mostly my fault. If I never let myself become arrogant, Solar Flare would've never existed."
"'Tis true," Luna agreed, "However, thy must ensure that this occurrence shan't be repeated."
"I have a suggestion," Celestia said, walking over to them, "Why don't you do what I did with my student?"
"And that is?" Luna asked.
Twilight walked over. "After we saved our Equestria, Princess Celestia sent me to Ponyville and had me report to her on the magic of friendship. Maybe you could do the same here?"
"What do you think, Luna?" the other Celestia asked, "It does sound like a good idea."
The other Twilight looked at Luna. The latter told her, "Twilight, thou must go to Ponyville with thy family and report to me with letters on the magic of friendship when thou discovers them."
The other Twilight nodded and returned to her friends. Twilight wondered, "How will this keep everything from happening again?"
Celestia told Twilight, "My faithful student, remember when you and your friends fought Discord?"
At the word 'Discord', a shudder went down Twilight's back and for good reason. Discord had nearly caused her to lose her friendship with Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy. Twilight said, "Yes."
Celestia continued with, "Well, if something happens in this dimension like this - your counterpart loses hope or somehow stops believing in friendship - there will be something to send to your counterpart in order to remind her of how much friendship matters."
"That makes a lot of sense," Twilight nodded. She ran to her counterpart. "So, does this mean goodbye?"
"No way!" Pinkie yelled.
"Ah'm sure as sugar tha' the princesses will let 'em visit," the other Applejack explained.
"It seems likely that Celestia will let us visit their dimension as well!" Rarity added.
"In that case," the other Twilight tearfully said, "Goodbye, for now."
The two Twilights hugged each other. "So," Rainbow Dash asked Firefly, "When we meet again, we'll be able to test out our skills against each other?"
Firefly grinned. "You bet!"
"Think of all the parties we'll be able to throw!" Pinkie told Surprise.
"And all of the beautiful art we can make together," Sparkler added on. Rarity nodded, interested.
"We'd always like an extra hand down on Sweet Apple Acres," Applejack offered.
The other Applejack said, "Well, Ah'll see if Ah can drop bah."
"So, we'll see each other soon?" asked Fluttershy. Posey nodded.
Twilight walked up to Celestia. "We're ready to go when you are."
After Celestia said a few goodbyes, she used her magic to open another portal. Twilight and her friends walked into the portal, saying goodbye as they left.
The portal closed. The other Celestia looked to Luna and asked, "Do you think we'll really see them again?"
"Thy shalt not be surprised if they do," Luna replied. She walked outside to prepare to raise the moon for the first time in a long time.
Twilight resurfaced from the portal, entering Canterlot Castle. Her Canterlot Castle.
"We're home," Twilight said quietly. Then, she yelled, "WE'RE FINALLY HOME!"
Suddenly, a crashing sound was heard. Twilight turned around and saw her five friends piled on top of each other. Rainbow Dash pulled herself out from under Applejack and yelled, "We're here!"
The mares got off of one another and made way for Princess Celestia to enter into their dimension.
A galloping of hooves was heard. Luna ran in with two guards, but stopped when she saw Celestia, Twilight and the others in front of the portal.
Luna yelled, "SISTER! WE ARE PLEASED TO KNOW THAT THOU HATH SURVIVED THE OTHER DIMENSION, ALONG WITH TWILIGHT AND HER FRIENDS!"
Fluttershy flinched from the use of the Royal Canterlot Voice. Celestia went over to Luna. "I'm glad to be back, too. I promise that you won't see the mare that stole my free will ever again."
Twilight told her friends, "I think we should head back to Ponyville and let the princesses have their moment together." She walked up to Celestia and said, "If you don't mind, princess, my friends and I are going back to Ponyville."
"Of course I don't mind," Celestia said, "You six have had a long adventure, and probably need some rest."
Twilight nodded. "Come on, girls," she said. The lot headed out of the castle.
When the six mares got to the Friendship Express, Pinkie piped up with, "Do you know what this calls for?"
"A party?" Rarity asked.
"Not just any party!" Pinkie yelled, "A We-Just-Saved-Another-Universe party!"
"Pinkie Pie," Rainbow Dash said, "Have I ever told you that you are so random?"
Pinkie laughed. Just then, the Friendship Express arrived, and the mares were on their way back to Ponyville.
"Spike, take a note."
Spike picked up a quill and a piece of parchment. He said, "Go on, Twilight."
Dear Princess Celestia,
Everypony has a different way of doing something, but nopony should ever force their way of doing something onto another pony. If they want to do something differently than normal, than it's perfectly okay. Maybe, they could discover that another way of doing things are just as good as their way!
Your faithful student,
Twilight nodded to Spike that she was done. Spike breathed a small plume of fire, and sent the letter on its way.
Suddenly, the room started shaking and a white light filled the room. "Oh no!" Twilight yelled, "Not again!"
Okay, Twilight thought, this time, I have to make sure that I listen to whatever future me says! Last time she visited, I worried myself over nothing!
When the light disappeared, Twilight noticed that future Twilight wasn't in the room at all. Instead, it was the Twilight from the other dimension.
"You visited!" Twilight yelled in delight.
The other Twilight smiled. "Well, I did promise to visit."
"How is everything?" Twilight asked.
The other Twilight panted. "I just came back from one of the biggest adventures my friends and I had - other than you girls visiting, of course. This one nearly turned us against one another!"
A feeling of dread crossed over Twilight. "Discord?" she asked.
"How did you know?" asked the other Twilight.
"My friends and I faced him, too," Twilight explained.
The other Twilight said, "Let me tell you, I thought that it was going to be Solar Flare all over again and that you six were going to come bail us out again!"
"Did the letters come in handy?" Twilight asked.
The other Twilight said, "I'd like to thank your Celestia for that idea. I don't know what would've happen without them!"
Spike asked, "Is this your counterpart from that adventure you had five months ago?"
Twilight nodded. "Other me, this is Spike."
The other Twilight studied Spike for a few seconds. "You don't seem to be that different from my Spike."
"Not at all?" asked Spike.
"Not at all," confirmed the other Twilight. She pulled out a small slip of paper and handed it to Twilight.
Twilight looked at the paper. It was a picture of the other Twilight, a stallion, and a filly that looked just like said pony looking at the picture. "So that's why you mistook me for your child!" Twilight yelled.
"It's troublesome when your child looks like your counterpart," the other Twilight agreed. "So, how are things with you?"
"Well, my future self visited the other day," Twilight said.
"What did she have to say?"
Spike shrugged. "She wanted to tell us not to worry about the future."
"It was a little silly in hindsight," Twilight said in an embarrassed fashion.
"Well, that's understandable," the other Twilight said, "Next, you'll be telling me that I go crazy because I can't find a friendship problem to report about to Luna!"
"Oh... about that-" Spike said nervously, before he was silenced by a look from Twilight Sparkle.
Twilight asked, "Hey, would you like to go see Rarity and the others?"
The other Twilight smiled. "Definitely!" Then the two counterparts, along with Spike, went out of the library and into Ponyville.
And that's all, folks! I might write a sequel to this someday. Next is either the sequel or a Flutterdash rewrite of Rio!
