Emily asked a favor of Garcia. She wanted to know why Reid wouldn't drive. She'd asked him to drive, and he'd snapped at her. After he refused to answer why he wouldn't, her curiosity got the better of her.
"I don't feel comfortable doing this." Garcia said.
"Please Garcia?" Emily begged.
"Fine, but if anyone asks, I had no part in this, and if they can prove I did, you made me at gun point."
"It's a deal."
It only took Garcia two minutes to find the article. It was from the Pine Nut Post
"Oh god." Garcia whispered.
Worst Accident Pine Nut has Ever Seen
One in the morning, Ruthie Laundry was awakened by a terrible crash. A car collided with a tree just outside her home. The car, belonging to seventeen year old Spencer Reid was completely destroyed. Ruthie immediately called 911. The paramedics pulled two people out of the car. One being Spencer Reid, had sustained life threatening injuries. Broken leg, three broken ribs, punctured lung, numerous bruises and cuts and a large piece of glass impaling his leg. The second, Emily Cooper, died on impact. According to an anonymous source, the two were in love and running from Emily's abusive father, who had threatened to kill them. This also tells us that Emily's father beat Spencer numerous times in order to keep him away from his daughter. When this didn't work, he shot Spencer, who was in the hospital just before the two ran away. As Emily could not drive, Spencer was forced to and it was because of his weak state that he ended up crashing the car. There is no word on Spencer's current condition, or the whereabouts of Mr. Cooper.
"Oh." Emily said. "I guess that's a good reason."
Something was bothering her about this though. Tugging at her. "Garcia? Can you see if they ever caught him, Mr. Cooper?"
Garcia nodded. "No. Oh my god. You have to read this. He sends death threats to Reid."
"What?" Emily was shocked. After she had 'died' you would think the team was done with secrets. "I have to talk to him."
Before Garcia could stop her, Emily was in the bull-pen. "Reid!" she yelled. "How could you not tell us? About the friggen death threats! After everything you didn't tell us there's a physco out there who still wants you dead?"
"What?" Morgan yelled.
"It's been thirteen years, Emily." He said quietly. "If he planned on killing me, he would have done it a long time ago. I think he wants me to live with what I did."
"But… he sends you threats…"
"More like reminders."
Emily looked down. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been poking around."
"I should have told you, I'm sorry too."
"Excuse me, but what the hell are you guys talking about?" Morgan asked.
Emily and Reid laughed. "Tell you later." Emily said.
