-I want to say thanks to my friend whom I call Puppet of Doom for helping me with ideas for this chapter! Thanks Puppet of Doom! 3
Sunday went by just too quickly. I slept most of it, Sunday being the only day I can sleep in. I really didn't do much either. Pansage and I worked on some battling techniques. I decided he needed to get stronger if we wanted to do something about Troy.
School came the next day. I Dred going to the prison of torture. I walk to school every day after that one day on the bus. It's a cruel place with less rules than school. Kids can shove you against the window, stick your head out the window, shove things in your mouth, easily kick you in private places, flick lit matches at you, stick gum on you, and dump your school bag out the window as well…
I have hard times.
It really pains me to talk about today. But I will try my best. When I first walked in the doors, I pulled off my hat, uncovering my green hair. Immediately Troy spotted me in the hallway. His vicious Purloin sat on his shoulder. He looked me in the eye, so I put my head down and stared at the floor as I walked briskly to my locker. Pansage tapped me on the shoulder, so I turned and continued to look at the ground. Troy stared at the top of my head. I could feel his glare on me. His Purloin growled and I felt Pansage crawl down to the middle of my back.
"You gonna be a piece of s*** again today?" Troy got up close to me, I could feel his breath as I flinched back and turned my head to this side, trying to get away. It was pointless. If he said anything to me (Whether I said anything back or not) I would be forced into some awkward situation or place.
"n-n-n-n-n-n-n-no" I started shaking and I felt a few eyes on me. Then some snickering. No one ever bothered to try and help.
"Good. Just stay outta my f****** way, nerd." Troy pushed my shoulder and I hit the locker. It made a loud crash but indistinguishable from the other kids closing their own lockers harshly.
I was pretty happy when Troy left, Pansage was still on my back but he crawled up to my shoulder. I still shook... pretty violently, know that I look back.
The next half of the day went back pretty normally, I got tripped in history and someone threw a rock at me in battling. But these things happen all the time. Such old, stale, and overused tastes surround them all the time.
The best...or worst? No. It was just a change...something different- we got a new student.
He was certainly a unique kid. Being in our school, the new kid usually got a small amount of torture before people could test and 'place him', in their "Social ladder". Which basically means they decide if he's worth hanging out with.
I was called to the office and being the top student had the rest of the day off to show the new kid around. When I heard my name come from the speaker, I started to swear. Lots of eyes were on me as I gathered my books and walked out the classroom.
"Hi!" The new kid was really hyper, cheerful, and energetic. Like homemade pop rocks... Cherry. Sweet with a little bit of bitter if you can find it hidden in there.
He was short-ish, probably freshman, with jet black hair. His hoodie was stylish yet simple, and he had hat hair. I small dent around the middle of his head from wearing a hat to often. Altogether he had a good taste...errrrm... vibe?
He stuck out a hand. I kinda just stood there, and gripped my books until he noticed my knuckles turning white.
"Uhh...sorry. Err...I'm Ash. I'm from Kanto." He's from Kanto? Such a faraway place. I wonder what it's like there? All the different flavors and tastes. The different styles and textures. Let's not forget to mention pokémon. Ehh...he expected me to do something. I was the guide anyway.
"H-Hello. I'm C-Cilan." Pansage decided to crawl to my head to get a look at the new kid. I saw from Ash's face he's never seen a Pansage before.
"And t-this is P-Pansage." I forced a smile. Then I noticed the yellow thing on his shoulder. Ash must have seen me staring at it.
"Oh! This is my partner, Pikachu!" The yellow mouse Pokémon jumped onto Ash's arm which he extended. Pansage started tugging my hair with excitement and began to chat with Pikachu. It was a rare pokémon in Unova, but I guess Pansage liked him. I started to calm down just a bit; Pansage saw no threat in Ash...why should I?
"Well...y-your locker's this way. If you'd allow me to show you." I made a gesture and we walked to his locker and got it open. Once he put all of his things away, I showed him around the school. Before I knew it, I looked at the clock. The last bell was going to ring soon... Time really flies. I had to find somewhere to go to escape Troy. He usually comes at the bell, or when the school is almost empty. Ash saw the nervousness in my eyes.
"Are you okay Cilan?" Quickly I grabbed hold of his collar and pulled him into the vacant library.
"Listen... I'm just going to tell you now...if you get caught hanging around with me you'll be dubbed as ...s-socially awkward." I choked on the last word and hung my head slightly.
"Why? I'll hang with you Cilan. You're the first person to actually seem to know I'm new and stuff." Ash smiled warmly. But I couldn't just let him be put through the stuff I just endure.
"Okay. Just don't say I didn't warn you." I held my hands up. If he wanted to be tortured in school... whatever. There's no way I could stop him. The bell rang and I jumped and cowered. My hand flew to my head and my legs buckled slightly.
"Woah! Cilan...it's just the bell." I looked at him from under my arms.
"Uhh...Y-yeah. J-just the bell. s-sure." Slowly I stood up straight and noticed how much I towered over him.
"Look...you s-should l-leave c-c-cause he'll f-find m-me." I started shaking as I looked around cautiously. Troy will find me no matter how hard I try to hide. Ash looked at me funny. He seemed suspicious.
"Alright I guess...Bye Cilan...Thanks for the help." The boy smiled and walked out. I began pacing then stuck my head out the window. I looked down the hallway. It was almost empty. Then Troy surprised me from behind. How could I be so stupid? Troy grabbed a whole fistful of my green hair and dragged me into the boys' locker room. I couldn't see him, but I heard Pansage call to me. Then I heard a locker door open and close, and Pansage's voice was muffled.
Anything went in the locker room. Troy threw me up against the wall and grabbed my collar. He slightly picked me up so my feet dangled inches from the ground. I was sweating still yet. Troy put his face close to mine and breathed through his teeth. His breath smelled like pizza. Today's school lunch. Lackluster, plain, and full of processed ingredients.
"I heard you were helpin' out the new kid today..." He pulled me away from the wall and pushed me back again. The pain in my back went all though my legs, arms, and head.
"You should stop bein' such an a** h***." And with that he dropped me on the ground. I wasn't prepared and I fell to the floor. Troy reached down and gripped me by my boxers. He pulled up so searing pain went through my spine and in between my legs. He pulled up further, letting the pain to grow. I clenched my teeth as there was nothing I could do. It's painful...it really is. My body parts began to ache but Troy lifted me higher and higher till I was suspended above the ground. He hung the seam of my clothing around the top of a bathroom stall. Then closed and locked the door. There was no escaping now. That is until someone came in and got me down. Let me tell you again... serious pain goes through your personal space when you just hang there, not being able to do anything.
I hung there for a good five minutes, the pain not getting anything but worse. When (of all the people to come in) Ash opened up the door. I heard him giggled but he held his hand to his mouth to stop himself.
"N-need some help Cilan?" He snorted once more, as my face turned red and I gasped out a sorta. He reached to the top of the stall as unhooked the seam. Unprepared, I fell to the cold tile ground. I tried to sit up but it hurt just too much.
"Is that what you were trying to warn me about?" Ash crossed his arms and leaned up against the cinderblock wall. I just simply nodded and lay down on my back. Trying to get into a more comfortable position. The chilly tiles soothed the pain a bit. I let the coolness go up my back and down my legs, the back of my head was also throbbing from being hit against the wall. I lay on the floor, not caring about how disgusting it was. I'm just glad Ash came; I could have been up there for another hour before the janitor finally came in.
Then the really unexpected happened... The door burst open again, and was quickly closed. The face that appeared at the door was nothing but surprising... It was Iris.
