Imaginary Friends enjoy Snack Time?
"Yes, she's fine now. Her uncle found her." Sora rubbed his temple as he tried to make his excuse without being distracted by the loud sounds of play coming from the other room where his precious sister was...with the monster.
"Ulqui-chan! Nap time's over!" Orihime whined as she persistently pulled at Ulquiorras' long tail with as much strength as she could muster. Unfortunately it proved to be quite useless as the bigger being remained motionless under the thick comforter. He had her pillows stacked all over his head save for the two long horns that stuck out like sore thumbs.
"Ulqui-chan, come on! I wanna play!" She tugged one more time before she let go and allowed the tail to fall limply to the floor. With a huff she climbe up her bed to sit upon his back. "Ulqui-chan, play with me, please?" She shook at his wings gently, trying to wake him from his seemingly comfortable nap. When nothing happened she moved closer to where the pile of pillows protected his face from the glaring of the bright light spilling through the window. One by one, Orihime shoved them aside until she made a gap where she stuck her head and found one glaring yellow eye looking up at her with great displeasure.
"Hi, Ulqui-chan!" Her voice was muffled but it could still be heard especially from he lay. He continued to just silently stare at her until he felt her hands touch the base of his horn.
"Come on Ulqui-chan, nap time's over. Time to play!" With a tug she managed to pull him away from the safety of the pillows, exposing him to the blaring light.
Ulquiorra held back slightly when she tried to pull him towards the edge of the bed, unwilling to leave his comfort zone just yet. Who would, after having to sleep on nothing but cold hard stone? Besides it was still day time, certainly not a great time for one such him.
"Leave me." He muttered, moving away so that he was face down against the bed all the while swishing his tail back and forth pleasantly. Orihime made a face and went off to see if her brother would play with her.
"Nii-chan, will you play with me today?" She asked when she found him right when he placed the phone down on the table.
"Sorry Orihime, I have to make dinner. Where's your uh...little friend?" He asked still unsure whether it was alright to keep something so odd in their lovely home.
"Ulqui-chan is still taking a nap." She looked down with a pout.
"I'm sorry, he is a bat I suppose." He rubbed his head. 'Or a vampire.' He thought bitterly before shaking his head and lowering down onto one knee to be at eye level with his dear sister. "How about I make you a snack and you can watch tv?" He suggested with a smile. Instantly Orihime beamed at his offer and jumped up in joy.
"Can I help?" She asked as he rose to make his way to the kitchen.
"Of course, I always need a helper when making cookies." He chuckeled when she practically squealed at the mention of cookies. The two continued to look at various recipies that they had for a variety of cookies and other snacks that they collected or experimented with until they came to a decision of making a few of each kind.
Soon when the smell of cookies filled their home it managed to make its way into Orihime's room where Ulquiorra still napped within the piles of many pillows. A little curious as to what could smell so tempting he picked up his head and sniffed lightly. Glancing around he found that the girl was no where to be found, all that remained of any indication that she was there were a few blocks that scattered around the floor and some crayons.
Lazily he waved his tail over to rest near his side and stretched his wings far enough so that they wouldn't get stiff yet not knock anything down in the process. The ribbon Orihime had placed on his horn the other day had yet to fall off and the little strands often got in his way sometimes, but he just couldn't care at the moment when that tantilizing smell continued to invade his senses. Soon enough it got to the point where his curiosity got the best of him and quickly pushed away the comfortable possessions to investigate the new smell.
He folded his wings to get through the hall way and into the living room to hear the happy giggling of the young girl accompanied with her older siblings' deep chuckling. He never made any hostile movements towards the child but whenever her brother came an inch his way his body would tense up and he would glare at him as fierce as he could; spreading his wings as far as they possibly could in a clear warning to stay put and away from him. Adults of her kind were not to be trusted; that was the rule from where he orginally came. When he came into view he merely watched with careful eyes when the two froze at his sudden presence; only Orihime relaxed and ran up to him with a smile.
"Ulqui-chan's awake now!"
Happy that her friend woke up just in time for warm cookies, she held up her own in a kind offer. "Here, try one!"
Though she meant to be nice, Sora still sent her a shaky warning. Ulquiorra shot him a swift glance before the sweet smelling treat caught his attention once more. It didn't look like the various fruits that were around his forrest nor did it have a similar smell. It actually reminded him of the honey from a bee's hive that used to hang over one of the many trees around his isolated cave. Such a thing was a treat indeed, but his upper body was not covered in any protective fur or armor in which to avoid the annoying stings so he pretty much ignored them. Cautiously he took the thin snack from her and analyzed it. Orihime looked on with anticipation; that one was part of the batch she had prepared herself, with the supervision of her brother of course, and she was quite curious as to see if he would like it or not.
He placed half of the cookie in his mouth and bit down. He chewed slowly to test the flavor, never leaving the gaze of the suddenly serious Orihime. Once she heard the faint gulp, she watched for the faintest hint of approval or disapproval as he stared at the cookie with such an intense gaze. After what seemed like a whole hour he let a low hum that rumbled in his chest; a low growl that resembled a purr. He nibbled at the rest of the cookie and turned to go back into the comfort of her bed.
"You guys sure know how to make anything seem like a life or death situation..." Sora sighed, turning to give Orihime a small plate of cookies and a glass of milk while she smiled brightly. "Here, keep him occupied with these and make sure he never leaves your room, it's bad enough that he's here in the first place and if anyone decides to visit there will be no way of explaining."
A/N: I had a cookie...that's all I have to say about this chapter aside from it being short, but to anyone interested these are just segments of their little time together if she were to ever meet him as a kid. Obviously it's AU, but after I come up with a certain amount of chapters I was wondering if I should make like a complete story or something like when she's a teenager or an adult. Of course I won't do that unless someone's interested in reading it.
