Author's Note: I thought Tori & Jade's Play Date was pretty awesome. I think Jori is officially my all-time favorite femmeslash pairing, just saying. And I loved the Cabbie subplot. "Yeah! Maybe we should make out sometime! :D" Oh, Robbie. XD

Anyway, after watching that episode, I was inspired to expand on the scene with Tori and Jade's date. Basically, this is just an alternate version of what I felt should've happened if those obnoxious guys hadn't showed up to crash their date. Enjoy!

"I guess…some people would say…from certain angles…you're pretty."

Whoa. Wait…um…what? Okay, I…no, what? Hold on a second here. Did Jade West…just call me, Tori Vega…pretty? Did I seriously just hear that correctly? Or was my hearing suddenly not functioning properly?

"You could say I'm pretty," Jade added almost immediately, snapping me out of my little daze. All right, so at least I knew that I hadn't imagined that just now. Jade looked at me then, waiting, and suddenly, I found myself smiling.

"You are pretty," I said sincerely.

A flicker of genuine shock momentarily passed over Jade's face, but then she slowly turned away from me, and I turned forward as well. Did I really just say that?

"So…uh, what…what else do you like about me?" I found myself asking. I couldn't help it. I just had to. Don't get the wrong idea or anything; it wasn't like I was the kind of girl who always went around fishing for compliments. I wasn't an insecure girl…

All right, fine, I'll admit that I did enjoy getting a compliment or two every once in a while, but come on, what girl didn't like to hear that she was pretty? Or that her singing wasn't "awful?"

"Your eyes," Jade said out of nowhere, surprising me again.

"My…my eyes?" I repeated, looking back at her. I knew that my eyes must've been wide as saucers now. My eyes? Well, okay. I'd take it.

"Yeah," Jade said in that clipped tone of hers as she suddenly dropped her chopsticks back into her bowl. "Okay. Give me another compliment now."

Huh. So…it looked like I wasn't the only one fishing for compliments here.

I bit my lower lip, holding back a smile. Don't smile, Tori, don't smile! I couldn't show Jade a sign of weakness like that. I knew that I had to keep my guard up with her, because honestly, as far as I was concerned, I knew that it was only a matter of time before she'd suddenly lose her temper and do something crazy, like pick up my nearly finished bowl of soup and just dump the hot liquid all over my head.

After all, it wasn't like it would be the first time she did something like that. I swear, sometimes I could still feel that scalding hot hazelnut coffee she'd poured on my head my first day at Hollywood Arts, just dripping down my scalp…burning…staining my shirt…

It was horrifying.

But, I had to admit that it did seem like Jade was at least trying to put in an effort right now. Maybe it was just because she wanted to give a good performance in that play we'd both be starring in very soon. I still couldn't believe that I was playing Jade's husband, but then again, I guess it wasn't all bad. At least I get to wear a mustache.

Oh, but back to Jade. What else did I like about her? Besides the fact that I thought she was pretty, too. Yeah, she definitely was a really pretty girl. Nice hair. Nice blue eyes. Nice skin. Nice smile. Nice lips.

Uh. That is… I meant… I didn't mean… Oh, whatever, shut up.

"You…have a nice singing voice," I said. There.

Jade's lips twitched upward at that, and for some reason, I felt my heart skip a beat. Oh God. Why did that just make me feel so nervous?

"What else?" she asked, leaning her body a little closer to me, her elbows draping over the table.

I felt my eyes bulge even wider as my mouth fell open.

"Uh…" I said, feeling my heartbeat quickening. I felt an urge to lean away from her, but I didn't budge. It was like my body had a mind of its own. "Wait, you're supposed to do me again."

The smile on Jade's lips only widened deeper, and the way she was looking at me now…so slyly and…mischievously… I don't even know. All I knew was that it was both creeping me out, and…well…sort of intriguing me at the same time.

"Okay," Jade said, drawing her lips in and smacking them together. "You're a nice person…in a very…y'know…annoying and…nauseating way."

I felt my eyebrows suddenly twitch downward. Uh oh. Here she goes again. I wasn't going to stoop down to her level, though. I was going to keep this going for as long as I could.

"Thanks," I said, hesitantly, because I guess that was a compliment. I was going to give her a better one, though. "And you're…very…bold."

Bold? Yeah, okay. Good one, Tori.

"Hmm," Jade hummed, that sly smile only widening again. She quirked an eyebrow upward as she added, "Interesting."

She started leaning in in even closer to me, her hands coming up to tuck just below her chin.

I hadn't even realized until this very second just how closely we were sitting from each other now, although still, neither one of us were moving. We were just kind of sitting there, staring at each other, almost like we were about to…

"Um. Jade?" I asked. Was it getting hot in here?

"You have nice lips, Tori," Jade said. What?

Oh, right. The compliment game.

"You do too, Jade," I said without thinking.

Oh God. What? No. I didn't just say that. Just 'cause I wasn't thinking as I said it didn't mean that I—

"MMPH!" I mumbled in complete and utter shock as I felt Jade's mouth suddenly crush against my own. My heart leapt inside my chest, but the rest of my body completely froze. I didn't pull away; I didn't even move at all. All I could feel was my heart pounding and this pair of lips on mine. I was just so shocked. What the heck was going on?

Jade West was kissing me. Jade West…was kissing me, Tori Vega.

I instantly felt my cheeks flare up with intense heat as I thought about everyone staring at us, all wide-eyed, jaws dropped, none of them daring to look away in fear of missing this hot 'girl on girl' action that was currently happening right in front of them.

And yet, I still wasn't pulling away from Jade, for reasons I couldn't even understand. Maybe it was because her lips felt so weird against mine, not a bad weird, but a different kind of weird. Her lips were thin, but soft, and they tasted like a combination of soy sauce and mango-flavored lip gloss.

It wasn't exactly the worst kiss I'd ever experienced…

I suddenly heard a crash from somewhere behind me, and before my brain could even fully process what was happening, Jade pulled away from me just as abruptly as she'd kissed me. I felt my jaw go slack and my eyes go wide again, and I just sat there, watching Jade as she casually dabbed the corner of her mouth with her finger and then traced it across the outline of her bottom lip.

"Wh…" I finally started to say, then felt my mouth fall open again. "Why?"

Jade shrugged, like it was no big deal at all that she'd just kissed me right in front of everyone, like it was totally socially acceptable to just devour another girl's lips without any warning first.

Not, uh…I mean…not that I would've let her kiss me had she asked me for permission first. 'Cause I wouldn't have. Yeah. I ain't that kind of girl.

"Am I a good kisser?" Jade asked, no, more like demanded.

"What?" I asked, my brain still half-numb. I still couldn't figure out just what the heck had happened here.

"You said I have nice lips," Jade reminded me, "and I said that you have nice lips. So I wanted to test those nice lips of yours and see if they were any good, but you didn't really give me much to work with, Vega. So I can't say you're a good kisser."

My eyes widened even more as a little noise escaped my lips, like a gasp or something, I don't even know. I still had no idea what was going on right now.

"Well, you caught me off guard!" I said defensively. "I'm usually way better than that!"

Jade's eyebrows shot up as that same mischievous little smirk of hers slid across her lips.

"Okay," she said. "Then show me what you got…Walter."

My own eyebrows shot up.

And then it was my turn to grin.

"Okay," I said, accepting the challenge, and then I put on my best deep man voice as I said, "Nancy."

I began to inch my face towards Jade's, and just when I was about to touch her lips to mine, I stopped, hesitating, before drawing my lips together in a line.

"Wait," I whispered, slowly pulling my head back. "You think we could maybe do this somewhere a little more…private?"

Jade just stared at me.

"After all, we still have…" I took a moment to check my phone. "Four hours and twenty-eight minutes left of our date."

"Okay," Jade finally said, that smile still on her lips as she got out of her seat and said, rather flirtatiously, I might add, "Come, Tori." She even extended her hand out towards me and wiggled her fingers, as if she wanted me to take it.

So I did.

I got out of my seat and felt Jade squeeze my hand in hers a little tightly, but I didn't complain. I just let her lead me through the restaurant, heading towards the exit, and it wasn't until we were almost near the doorway that I suddenly thought of something.

"Wait," I said, causing Jade to stop. "What about Sikowitz's little spies?"

"Oh," Jade said. "I don't think we have to worry about them."

She held out her other arm, pointing to something, and I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at what she was pointing at. I saw Sinjin, lying unconscious on the floor.

Ohhhh. So that's what that crash was.

"What about the other one?" I asked, and I watched as Jade peaked her head through the exit before looking back at me.

"Yeah, he's gone," she said. "He probably had to go to the 'bathroom' or something."

Author's Note: Yep, just some silliness. What'd you think? I'm prouder of my first Jori fic, Slipping Through Her Fingers, but this one is definitely way more fun.

And it was interesting to write in Tori's POV. I just wanted to experiment with that. How'd I do with it? Let me know! :)
