Chapter 1: Deja Vu- A Chance Meeting
Everything in Teddy's life was perfect. She had the perfect boyfriend for the past five years, the perfect grades in high school, and the start of what seemed to be the perfect live as an adult. But she wasn't as perfect as she seemed to be. She struggled with the same day to day issues that every teenager and twenty year old dealt with: heartbreak, sadness, stress and the worst of them all, her family, who were far from being perfect. But that all would change today.
Today was the day that she had finally gottne her won apartment closer to the university and awa from the distractions that her family caused. She was happy to finally be abe to her own thing without parental consent, and she just couldn't wait for it to start. Of course there's always bumps in the road when it came to the parents she has.
"Alright. That's the last of it." her boyfriend, Spencer annoced as he placed the last of the many boxes from her room into the back of the moving van and closed it up.
"Are you sure you're ready to do this, Teddy? You could always stay here and go to college. We're not going to stop you." her mom said with a pleading tone as she placed a hand on her shoulder. She was still trying to convince Teddy to stay at home. She may have been seen as crazy to people all over town, but inside she was just an extremely loving mother that didn't want her kids to leave her. In fact she even dreaded the thought of it happening someday. Which was why she was trying her hardest to get Teddy to stay, but she wasn't going to. She had enough of being home and she wanted to live life on her own for once.
"Mom, I can't." was all she could say. She didn't want her mom to know that she'd been waiting for this her whole life. She knew it would hurt her mom's feelings and she didn't want to do that, especially with her already being crazy to everyone but them. She decided that she was going to leave and she wasn't going to change her mind. She wanted to have her freedom, but she didn't want to hurt anyone in the process.
"Don't worry Mrs. Duncan. Since Teddy and I will be living close to each other in the same apartment building, I'll be sure to keep her safe." Spencer said to them. Teddy hadn't even noticed that he had walked up next to her and put his arm around her shoulders. Spencer knew that they didn't truly trust him that much for what he had down those years ago. But he was going to try his hardest to gain it back. After all he had something very special planned for their five year anniversary in a few days.
"But I-" Amy started as she moved her away from Teddy's shoulder, but she was interrupted by strong hands grabbing ahold of her arms gentle.
"Oh come on honey. Our little girl's grown up. It's time that we let this bird leave the nest." Bob, Teddy's dad, said to calm his wife down as eh started to rub her arms up and down slowly.
Amy sighed in defeat. She could clearly see that she would lose this arguement, and she hated to lose at anything. "I guess you're right." She kenw they were right. She was just in denial that her oldest girl was already old enough to move away from home.
"Teddy, we should get going. It's getting kind of late." Spencer told her as he rubbed her shoulder and turned heading towards the van.
Teddy immediatelly started to hug her mom and dad goodbye. She didn't want to leave really, but she wanted to have her freedom and this was the only way. She would mess everyone, including Gabe. She waved to the boys, PJ, her older brother, and Gabe, her younger brother.
She saw that Gabe had this look on his face that he couldn't wait until she left. She knew that he has been waiting for this moment for his whole life so he could have a room of his own. Away from PJ and Charlie. And everyone knew that PJ was never going to move out so he had hoped Teddy would soon, and that day was finally here for him.
"Alright. Well, this is it." she said to her folks and siblings as she turned away from them. She was trying her hardest not to cry, but the tears still came to her eyes as she started to walk away from them.
She wasn't too far away when she started to hear this little tiny footsteps following behind her. She quickly turned around and looked down. She saw her little sister, Charlie who was now seven years old. She had a sad look on her face that Teddy just couldn't ignore ever. So, she leaned down and picked her up by her waist. She cradled her in her arms, not wanting to drop her.
"What's wrong, Charlie?" Teddy asked, she really loved her little sister and when she was sad like this she always wanted to make it go away. Teddy would do almost anything for little sister.
"Where are you going?" Charlie asked her with a pout. She knew that something was going on and that everyone was sad because of it, but she didn't know what. And why all of Teddy's things were in a van that was going to leave.
"I'm just going to live somehwere closer to where my school is. That's all, Charlie." Teddy replied to her with a smile. She was trying to sound happy but now she was especially a total wreck inside. She didn't want Charlie to know that hebeing sad was just simply killing her on the inside at this moment.
"So, I won't get to see you anymore?" Charlie asked again, looking down away from Teddy, even sadder than before. She didn't want her sister to leave he behind. She loved her more than any of her other siblings. They were closer than any of them either. She didn't want to lose that connection.
Teddy was struggling with her decision now, seeing how sad her sister was becoming because of it. She wanted to call it all off and stay there, but she had already spent so much money on the apartment and the moving van. She was torn between what she wanted to do.
"No. No, no, no. You'll still see me I'll come over and visit everyone so often and as much as I can. Just becaused I've moved out doesn't mean you'll never see me again." Teddy explained to her as she wiped the tears off of her cheeks that had started to roll down.
"Really?" Charlie asked, a little more hopeful now as she was also wiping away her tears.
"Really." Teddy said to her, pausing as she looked around them. She smiled when she saw the youngest of the Duncans, Aidan. "Now listen to me, Charlie. While I'm gone I want you to do something for me. I want you to take care of everyone for me. Mom, Dad, PJ, Gabe, and your little brother. Can you do that for me, Charlie?"
Charlie nodded to answer her as she was still trying to stop the tears from falling down her face. She really didn't want Teddy to leave, she loved her more than anyone else. But she knew whatever she did, her sister was still leaving and she needed to be strong for her and her family. And she knew that it wasn't like Teddy was dying or anything, she was just moving out. She would see her again, so that helped to perk up her spirits.
"Good. Now give me a hug."
Teddy wrapped her arms around Charlie, tightly, in a big bear hug as she did the same. As they hugged Teddy was trying her hardest to not cry. She knew she was only moving but it felt like she was doing something much more when she was hugging her sister.
"I love you, Teddy." Charlie said to her as they hugged each other tightly.
"I love you too, Charlie." Teddy replied as she was trying even harder to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill from her eyes. Charlie just had to be so cute, and irresistible. Teddy just wished that she could take her with her instead of leave her here. But she knew that she wasn't hers, and she needed their mother and father to raise her, not someone only in their twenties, who didn't exactly know how to care for her, like they did.
She put Charlie back down, giving her one last squeeze. She was fighting so hardly against the tears as she turned back toward the van to leave. She knew that once she got in that bed, there was no turning back, no moving back home at all. If she wanted to back out, she had to do it now. But she decided not to. She wanted to move forward, instead of the back and moving out was just the way to do so.
As Teddy opened the passenger side door to the van, she looked back over at her family. And as she saw Charlie playing with Aidan, the newest Duncan, who had just turned four. Her dad holding her mom in a warm embrace. She knew that he was trying his hardest not to cry. He was a tough person but when it came to his girls, he was a nervous wreck. PJ and Gabe we all smiles at her, but as soon as she left she knew that they would probably immediately start to move PJ's stuff down to what was her old bedroom.
She smiled, when she saw all of those things happening at once, she knew that her family, especially Charlie, would be alright without her there. They had each other to hold them together.
She waved goodbye to everyon and got into the van. Spencer leaned over and gently pecked her on the lips.
"Are you ready?" he asked her, as he turned the key and started the engine.
"As I'll ever be." she answered him, and as they pulled out of her parents drive way she watched them through the rearview mirror until they all disappeared. A single tear slid down her face.
"Hey, Charlie. It's your big sister, Teddy here." she said into the camera she was holding. Even though she wasn't living at home anymore. She would still make the video diaries to help her little sister through her teenage years and beyond that.
"I know that recently I've made a big change in both our lives." she paused, taking a deep breath to surpress the tears that were starting to bubble to the surface. "So I know that I've moved out of our parents house, but that doesn't mean that we'll be away from each other all the time. And it doesn't mean that I won't be there to help you anymore. I will be there for you to help you out." she said down on to her bed in her new room.
"So this is my new room. It's smaller than my old one but it's enough for now."
"Especially since she has me living so close." Spencer said, wrapping his arms around Teddy. She hadn't even noticed him come into the room, let alone behind her either.
"You remember Spencer. He'll be living close by to me so if something ever happens I could ask him for help." she said, with a smile. She turned towards him, but before she started to lean in for a kiss from, she said, "Wish me Good Luck Charlie." and closed her camera, kissing Spencer almost immediately afterward.
She placed her camera carefully on the nightstand next to her bed, not breaking the kiss. She had finally gotten all of her things into the house right before leaving the message on her camera. They had placed a few of the things into the places that she wanted them to. The rest she could work on after classes each day, between work and homework.
She would do it now, but instead she really needed to be with Spencer, wholely and completely. She wanted him to be with her, she wanted to feel his caress and his warm. More importantly she wanted him to know that he was her soulmate and that she was his.
The alarm on her bedside table rang loudly, signaling that it was time for her to get up for the day. Teddy was laying down on her stomach with her comforter covering up her naked back. Spencer was laying right beside her arm draped over her as they slept. She and Spencer had been having sex since they were eightteen years old. They used protect, of were smarter than not to use it.
She reached over, tiredly, to turn off her alarm. She rubbed her eye with the palm of the same hand that she used to turn her alarm off to wake herself up. Not that she wanted to get up, she wanted to stay asleep. She had a rough night the night before from leaving her family behind to live away. No matter what she did, she couldn't get to sleep even after having such a wonderful night with Spencer. She didn't know how long it took for her to fall asleep, but she eventually did, but she didnt' think that she slept for that long. But she had to get up no matter what the circumstances of the night before, she needed to get ready for her first day at The University of Colorado, and she wasn't going to be late, not on her first day.
She quickly got up and hurried to the shower. When the cold water first hit her body and cascaded down it, it immediately woke her up completely. She washed off her body and her hair. Lathering in the shampoo rather quickly and rinsed it out of her hair. She did the same with the conditioner. As she brushed her, she also brushed her teeth and afterward put her make up on . Just a light eye shadow and mascara is all that she usually wore, even on special occasions.
She got dressed in short sleeve, purple shirt, that one side fell off her shoulder, that revealed a light mint green tank top underneath and shorts that fared at the bottom of them. She wore just simply tennis shoes with her outfit. She grabbed her bag and keys from the table next to the door and locked it and left, closing the door behind her. Spencer had already left to get ready for his job. He didn't have to go to school since he had decided to skip going to college for now and to just save up money. While Teddy had already saved up the money for it, and was ready for the next four years of her life getting a higher education. And she was off to do just that.
He had just arrived at the university right before his first class. He was running late. Can you imagine? The Justin Russo? Late for class? That was unheard of, well so was wizardry but he also used that. Or well used to. Ever since he lost his family wizard competition to his sister, he hasn't been able to use it. Now he was just a normal everyday human, nothing special about him. Well besides his intelligences that is. He was the smartest person out of his whole family, actually out of his whole former high school. And he was looking forward to going to college, and getting away from his family.
Out of all the colleges he could've gone to he chose the University of Colorado. He didn't know why though. It was probably because it was the one college that he got accpeted to that was the fartherest away from where he used to live, Waverly Place, New York. He did not want to stay there. Not after everything that happened to him. He loved, and lost and everyday he walked passed her former house. Juliet's parents still lived there and everyday he was reminded of the love that he let get away and he just had to get out of there. Away from the reminder of her exsistance.
He was walking down the side walk on his way to class. Looking around at what potential this place had for him at highering his education. When all of a sudden. . .
Out of nowhere someone runs into him. Which it could of been partically his fault for not paying attention to where he was walking. He shook his head from shock of the impact. He saw that papers were scattered all around them. He knew they weren't his, after all he had just arrived in town the day before and hadn't even gotten his schedule yet.
"I am so sorry! I should've been watching where i was going." he heard what sounded like a girl's voice to him. He looked over at her and saw her frantically trying to pick up the papers. He looked at her questioningly, it was the first day of classes she was already this freaked out? Boy, is she in for a hard time for the rest of the year.
"It's fine. It was partically my fault. I wasn't exactly watching where I was going either." he said to her, trying to ease his guilt. He didn't want her to feel like she was the only one to blame for what happen. "Here, let me help." he told her.
And he also started to pick up all of the papers that were around them. There were so many. Why did she have so much papers with her on the first day?
Picking up his stack of papers he stood up, and could not believe what he saw.
Her. She was. . .
A/N: Alright so I hope you enjoyed this first chapter of my first Good Luck Charlie/Wizards cross over story. I thought of this idea one day while watching TV and seeing the commercial for Arriety that had both David Henrie and Bridgit Mendler and I just wondered what if Justin and Teddy met? What would happen between them? And so this was born. Now in this story only Alex won the competition and was the only one to keep her powers and Juliet never came back from the woods after she was scratched by Mason.
Well I hope you enjoyed! There is plenty more to come!
