After eating with our families Kent and I took a walk. The sky had blessed us with a sunny day. There were no clouds in sight. As we tossed a basketball back in forth we talked about what sports we were going to do in high school. Then we talked about how annoying 8th grade girls could be.
We decided to walk over to our friend Sam's house while we waited. Sam is short for the name Samantha. She is one of the few girls I can stand to talk to. I admit she's very pretty with her red hair and grey eyes. She doesn't ware any makeup and she aces every class in school. She's pretty cool.
We knocked on her door and she answered. "Hey!" we all said at the same time. Sam laughed and led us into the dining room. "My new friend Will is already over but that's ok, we can all hang together." Sam told us. A scrawny teenager walked into the room. He had a slight limp when he walked and he had already started to grow a beard. He gasped when he saw us. I decided to loosen the tension in the room by saying "hi I'm Jacob, and this is Kent." I said pointing each of us out.
Will responded by staring at us wide eyed then saying "I have to go! I'll see all of you later!" Sam frowned and started to protest but the guy was already gone. "That was weird." I muttered to Kent. Sam looked kind of cautious of us while she said "I'm sorry guys; Will gets a little weird sometimes." "Where did you meet him?" Kent asked. Sam looked as if she were a hundred miles away while she said "a summer camp. I haven't gone there yet but I'm planning to."
Samantha closed her eyes and whispered "I wish I could tell you guys but you would never believe me." Kent and I looked at each other, I shrugged at him. Kent asked "um… Sam? You seem a little weird. Just then another person knocked on the door. Sam looked relieved "Maybe Will came back." She said as she went to answer the door.
When she came back she looked pale. "Guys, you have to leave now." I didn't want to be rude so I said "ok." And headed for the front door. "NO! The back door now!" Sam shouted at us. She looked like she was really freaking out. "Sam are you ok?" I asked. "I'm fine now leave!" she whispered to us. I swear I saw one of the gang members that was following me earlier, approaching Sam as she slammed the door In our faces.
As we walked away I could hear some loud noises coming from the house. Maybe she had tripped on something. If we went back and nothing had happened Sam would be mad at us. "Dude are you creped out right now?" Kent asked me. I nodded. He asked "why do you think she did that?" I told him about those two creepy people that had followed me home and the suspicion that they were in her house. "Should we go back?" Kent asked.
"No her parents were home right?"
"Well… she never said so."
"I think we are ones freaking out right now. Maybe it was my imagination when I saw that guy."
"Ok." Kent said.
We headed back towards our parents who were packing up the picnic. My mom smiled when she saw us. My mom has dark blond hair and hazel eyes; my dad on the other hand has brown almost blackish hair and his eyes are brown. I don't look anything like them because I was adopted.
"Guess what?" my mom asked me.
"You and Kent are going to that new zoo that just opened!
I looked over at Kent's dad who was heading to the car with his picnic basket in hand. Kent's dad has short brown hair and blue eyes. He's really muscly because he's a professional weight lifter. Kent never talked about his mom so I guessed she either died or left them. "Ready to go?" my dad asked me. "sure." I said. As I jogged over to our grey SUV. As we drove away I got a glimpse of Will and Sam running from her house. The next second they were gone.
