A drabble - in which Kol and Caroline have a conversation before Kol leaves town.
Caroline walked up to her room, wanting to leave Bonnie alone with her mother as she started the process of transition. Just a few days ago, Caroline had gone through the exact same thing Bonnie was going through, only Bonnie was going to get to keep mother.
Caroline sighed as she closed her bedroom door and almost screamed when she turned around. "What the hell are you doing here?" she asked, looking at Kol as he stood by her window. He had a stupid smirk on his face and Caroline was two seconds away from pushing him out her window.
"Relax, precious. I'm only here to talk before I head out." Kol looked her over, appreciating her beauty. It was a shame that Nik had his sights set on her, she would be better off with Kol, but no matter.
"Head out? Are you and your freaky family finally leaving?" she asked, still standing by her closed door. She was still a little shaken up from Klaus' outburst and didn't need Kol touching her either.
"Finn and my mother are gone, I'm leaving, Elijah is leaving. Knowing Bekah she'll stay with Nik. He's not going anywhere, unfortunately enough for you." He walked over and looked at the pictures and trophies cluttered around her desk and dressers. "You need to know something about my brother, Caroline."
"I don't want to know anything about Klaus, but I have a feeling you're going to tell me anyway," she said, crossing her arms over her chest. So, some of the Originals were leaving? Why couldn't Klaus go with them?
Kol laughed softly and turned to look at her, sitting on the edge of her desk. "He's…relentless in the pursuit of what he wants. He doesn't stop until he gets it. He's been alive for a very long time - and he's actually been able to live his life unlike some of us."
"Well, I don't want your brother. I've made that perfectly clear, and he'll never have me," she said, sounding like she was trying to convince herself as well as Kol.
"I wish that it were that simple, love. But, Nik, he's very fond of you. And he's going to do any and everything he can to convince you of his worth." Kol got up and walked over to her, pushing her against the door. He could see her chest starting to heave with her labored breathing and he smirked. "I'm not going to hurt you, relax. I just need you to know something."
Caroline swallowed, looking at Kol. She really was tired of these Originals and their intense stares and cryptic words. "What's that?"
Kol just stared at her for a second. "My brother may be a bastard, in more ways than one, and he may be a murderer and calculated…but you have no idea what our family has gone through. You're a baby, a child…stop being so judgmental and give him a chance."
Caroline wanted to roll her eyes but held it back.
"At least give him a chance, and if it doesn't work out - which I can't see it not - then he'll leave you alone." He backed away from her and walked back towards the window. "Treat him well, because if you don't…I'll kill you myself." He blew her a kiss and then he was gone, jumping out her window.
Caroline rushed to the window to watch him leave but she couldn't see him. She clenched her jaw and shook her head, not wanting his words to get to her. She didn't want to give Klaus a chance…did she?
