Comments: I'm sure if Shiro had been the priest at my church, we would've all worn helmets. Just in case.

It never failed, Yukio thought, mildly irritated at the sleeping form next to him. Every Sunday it was the same. He would have understood if he and Rin were asked to attend morning mass at seven o'clock. But, this was the noon mass. There was no way Rin was still tired. Or that bored.

It might have been understandable if the priest had droned on and on without reaching a stopping point *and* if other members of the congregation were beginning to doze off. But, that wasn't the case today.

Today, it was their father who was giving the services, and Father Shiro Fujimoto always had interesting sermons. To the point where any Sunday he was preaching, the church was nearly full, no matter what time of the day it was. Why Rin couldn't keep awake, considering Shiro was known for being loud and excitable, was beyond Yukio.

Nudging hadn't done anything, so Yukio gave up on that and continued to listen.

"... so I suggest you don't pay any attention to those who claim when the world will end, and if you do know of somebody who spent their life savings on a fallout shelter in case of Armageddon, smack them upside the head," Shiro continued. "No one knows when we'll be called Home, but we need to be prepared, and I quote, 'Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come...'"

'How ironic,' Yukio thought, cringing at a very soft snore emitting from his right. Sighing, he thought the very idea of the world ending would have at least interested Rin.

Shiro continued his sermon, casually reaching for a hymn book from a nearby pew. "...like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, and asks the doorkeeper to stay awake. Therefore - " He then threw the heavy hymn book in Rin's direction, hitting the older twin with a precision that left people speechless.

Rin woke up with a yelp and fell off the pew, flailing.

Without missing a beat, Shiro concluded his quoting, "'Stay awake, for you do not know when the master of the house will come.'"

Yukio forced back a laugh as he helped an irritated Rin up from the floor. Maybe, just maybe, this wasn't so bad.

Because if anybody else in the congregation had been half asleep, they were awake now.
