"That boy is a demon. I'm surprised that they're letting him go here." Rin overheard the two women chattering as they walked home. He looked down at his skinned knuckles angrily. He'd done it again. He'd gotten into a fight and he'd proven to the people that had doubted him from the beginning that he was some sort of demon. He sniffled and wiped his nose on the sleeve of his coat. "I'm not a demon... I'm not..." He recited the mantra to himself again and again. There was no way that he was going to let them prove to him that he was some sort of evil being.

A hand was placed on his back and he growled defensively until he saw his father. The young boy had no idea that this man wasn't his real father. He was in fact the son of Satan and a human woman. The man wanted to keep this a secret from both boys, but he was secretly training the younger twin to be an exorcist. The younger twin was determined to be too weak to inherit the powers of their real father and only Rin had acquired them. He, however didn't know how true the women's statement was.

"Chichi... They called me a demon..." The man scooped the small boy up in his arms and carried him home.

I'm not a...

...demon...

I can't be...

Rin woke with a start. The seventeen year old groaned and pushed himself out of bed. He didn't have a job, even though he needed one. He could never hold one down long enough. Something strange always happened and he ended up getting fired. A sigh passed through his lips as he looked over to see the sleeping form of his twin brother. The younger male was always so smart and everyone looked up to him. However, Rin was always the trouble maker. The one who got into fights. And the one who came home with cuts and bruises that his genius brother had to patch up. He gathered clothes and stepped into the bathroom to take a shower. He felt like he needed on. Maybe it would wake him up.

Soon, he was showered, dressed, and dry. Rin stepped back into the room, trying to make as little noise as possible as he sat down on the bed. A few minutes later, he left once again, only to be caught by the man that he called father. Their father was actually a renowned priest who looked over the temple that they lived in. The old man smiled and Rin smiled back. "Will you cook for us this morning? You were always such a good cook, Rin." Rin beamed at the compliment and hastily agreed.
