Is This Wrong?

Joy and Victoria always fight, irritate each other and bicker but they are still best friends. I see they fight even more now that they are married in Canada. Something changed about them, but I don't know what. They haven't gone beyond best friends but something else, I don't know what though.

"Can you STOP with the stirring?" Oh boy, here they go again.

"How come ever since we got married everything you do annoys me?" Victoria reaches across the table and caresses Joy's arm. It made me jealous that I didn't have anyone to comfort or vice versa.

"Melanie, you okay sweetie?" Joy's heavily accented voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Hmm? Oh, yea. Yea, I'm fine. I'm just thinking about things," I replied dreamily.

"About what?" Joy and Victoria pried, and then looked at the other oddly. I giggled at their expressions and answered.

"About what it's like to be with…" I cleared my throat, "a woman." Joy restrained a laugh and Victoria took an important call from her agent. Once Victoria left, Joy inched closer to me, and grasped my hand. My body tensed up as she rested her head on my shoulder.

"You've always been there for me and Victoria but we haven't been there for you, especially Victoria." I laughed and Joy silenced me with two fingers pressed to my lips.

"Laugh too loud and she'll ruin this moment that I'm sharing with you." I nodded quickly and Joy removed her fingers from my lips and rested her forehead on mine.

"You have beautiful eyes Mel. Why haven't I noticed the beauty of your eyes before?" I shrugged, and my heart started to race and I started panicking.

"What about Victoria, Joy? Won't she be upset at your lack of loyalty?" Joy simply shrugged.

"I don't know, but what I do know is my attraction… to you." Her grip on my hand tightened and leaned closer to me. My breath was stuck in my throat when her lips barely grazed mine. Then Joy turned the mere graze into a full kiss. My eyes fluttered closed and Joy slipped her tongue into my mouth and met my own, deepening the kiss. Her long slim fingers tangled themselves in my thick brown hair.

"What the hell are you doing Joy?" we pulled apart and I blushed.

"Sorry," Joy mumbled, "I couldn't help it! Melanie's so gorgeous and her lips begged me to kiss them!"
