Disclaim. I own Jade. That is all.
Her name was Jade, and she was new to Degrassi.
But Eli knew her. And he knew her well.
Jaded came to mind when he saw her and she saw him.
"Eli?" she gasped. Her bright green eyes matching his in gaze and color. Her world falling before her eyes, on it's knees before her brother. Crumbling.
"Jade," he said trying with great effort to keep his voice level. His world too fell, but into place at her feet. He had missed her so much, and could feel himself being better just with her around.
"I've missed you," she said keeping her distance from him. She knew that no one was to know about their past. She was Jaden Gold and he was Eli Goldsworthy. Her name had been changed for a reason.
"Why are you here?" he asked ignoring the fact that all he wanted was to hug his sister. She looked away from him. She wouldn't dare let him see her cry.
"I go here now. Maggie wanted me in public school." She met his eyes and hoped that things would be the same as they were before. Them. Close and best friends. Perfection for her. Everyone passed around them ignoring the Emo freak and the new girl. They weren't that far apart.
"That's good I guess. Mom wanted to take me away from here. But it's that last year." Eli couldn't look away. His heart ached. He hadn't seen his sister in years and he wanted to really catch up. Doing that, however, would mean insanity for their parents even if it meant sanity for him.
"Still protective as ever, I assume." She adjusted her books. He nodded. She took a deep breath and exhaled. "Well...I have to go to class..." she said. He nodded again and the warning bell sounded as if to affirm what she had said. She walked passed him and didn't look back. At least until she was at the end of the hall.
Eli had turned to face her, eyes saddened at not being able to be near her. She turned away, sad as well, and rushed off down the hall.
"I missed you too," he whispered. Eli could no longer say that he knew his sister. She was just somebody that he used to know.
I know it's really short and that this song is actually a love song or the ex's, but this is what I ended up with, and you know what? I like it. It still fits that line. And it fits because everyone goes through that with at least one person in their life.
