Ziva David tapped her fingers nervously on the back of her hardback book. She glanced briefly at the clock and back again, realising that she only had a couple of minutes before her boyfriend of 4 months- Anthony 'Tony' DiNozzo returned home.
She'd found out about the pregnancy a mere hour ago when she had tried to most accurate test on the market. Gasping, she had grabbed her coat and ran out the door.
She was already halfway there before she realised that Tony was at a Movie Club, so would not be home for while.
Back in present time, Ziva looked down at the book, asking herself why Tony had one in his apartment. She wondered even more why it was a classic book- 'Anne of Green Gables.'
She sighed, placing the book back down on the table. She rubbed her stomach in both anticipation and worry. Would Tony stay or run away? Half of her thought that Tony would be the loyal, loving man she had known for so many years and the other half thought of him as the commitment-fearing partner she had always 'accepted.'
The clock chimed 6 and the door slowly began to unlock. Ziva did not even turn to look at Tony as he bustled into the door, a surprised expression upon his face as he saw her.
"Zi? Baby, what are you doing here?" his expression matched his tone perfectly.
"I have something to tell you," she whispered, fighting the urge to cry.
"What is it?" Tony sensed her upset and slid into a seat beside her, "Come on, sweetheart." His voice was soft to her ears.
"I...I…I," she stuttered, trying to be as strong as possible.
Instead of sighing and hurrying her up, Tony put an arm around her as she nestled into him, "Take your time, sweetheart. Is it very important?"
Ziva nodded mutely.
"Who does it involve?"
"Is it bad or good?"
"It depends on the way you look at it."
"What's it like for you?"
"It's brilliant, I suppose."
"Then what is it?" Tony wondered as Ziva opened her mouth to speak again.
"Tony, I'm pregnant," she finally released the words from her body, relaxing herself a little, "I just found out- we used protection, I don't know how it happened."
"Protection is only a certain amount effective," Tony replied, "The best way to prevent pregnancy is to not to have sex at all."
"So you're not mad?" Ziva exhaled slightly.
"Of course not," her partner out his spare hand on her chin and put her head up, so her gaze matched his, "Why would I be? Zi, I've wanted a child for so long. Granted I am fairly old, but I couldn't care less. I still have you and we can raise this baby together- we can be a real family."
Ziva grinned as Tony brought her lips to his.
They kissed softly for a matter of moments before they reluctantly broke apart.
"I love you," he told her suddenly.
She looked at him in shock- they hadn't said that to each other yet.
"I love you too," she pecked his cheek as he nuzzled her neck.
"I love you too," Tony bent down and kissed Ziva's tummy, "Mini DiNozzo-David."
Ziva laughed and cuddled up to him more. She then suddenly thought of something.
Hope you enjoyed this- I just randomly thought of it 15 minutes back and started writing. I'll do a sequel tomorrow or the day after called 'Telling Them.' A bit cliché, I know, but oh well.
Peace be with you xxx
P.S Please read and review my other stories- 'A-Z of Tiva' which I am finishing tonight and my newer story- 'Cliché.' Both Tiva, of course!
