It was earlier afternoon in the forest, and Snow White had spent all morning hunting for food with little success. She was growing hungrier by the minute and was getting worried that she wouldn't find any food before nightfall. Suddenly Snow heard footsteps coming from the nearby clearing. She raised her spear not knowing whether the person was friend or foe. But she quickly lowered it once she saw it was her good friend Ruby.
"Hey Snow how goes the hunting?" Ruby yelled to her friend.
"Not so good. I've been hunting all morning with no luck." Snow replied as she walked towards the clearing where Ruby was standing.
"Well you're in luck because I put together this picnic basket of food for you. I thought maybe we have a picnic together on Firefly Hill." Ruby stated with a smile on her face.
"I would love that." Snow replied with an equally as enthusiastic smile on her face.
Ruby then began to walk in the direction of Firefly Hill and Snow quickly followed behind. It was a beautiful day to be walking in the forest, and the birds were fully engulfed in song. Snow kept her spear close at hand just in case they had to clear a path or came across trouble. But with her free hand she had instantly grabbed a hold of Ruby's the second she caught up to her. Ruby would glance at Snow every now and again and give a smile. This is exactly what she had hoped for. Finally they reached a clearing, and there it was Firefly Hill with it's breathtaking view of the kingdom. Now sooner had they arrived, Ruby begin to unpack the picnic basket she had brought.
"Can I help you?" Snow asked.
"No it's okay I got it. You just turn around and look out in case of trouble." Ruby replied still busy unpacking.
Snow knew what Ruby was getting at, and immediately turned around and smiled. She waited eagerly to see what Ruby had in store from them.
"Okay you can turn around now." Ruby happily exclaimed.
Snow turned around with joy and couldn't believe the spread she saw before her eyes. There was a nice checkered blanket spread out on the ground, there were candles, wine, two wine glasses, and an assortment of breads and cheeses. Not to mention how stunning Ruby looked as the sun was getting lower in the sky.
"Ruby this…this is beautiful! I can't believe you did this all for me, for us. And you…you look stunning." Snow stated in awe.
"Of course you've been so good to myself and Granny, and you know how much I love you. It's the least I could. Come let's sit and enjoy." Ruby replied with a smile on her face.
Ruby grabbed Snow's hand and the two ladies took a seat together on the blanket. They talked and dined for what felt like hours. And as the sun began to go down Ruby lit the candles and poured some more wine into their glasses.
They raised their glasses in a toast and Ruby said, "A toast to love and our happily ever after."
"To our happy ending." Snow responded.
They clinked their glasses together, took a sip of their wine, and they leaned in for a passionate kiss. And as they kissed the fireflies came out and glowed in all their glory, around the beautiful couple.
