Author's Note: Hey look! A new chapter! This would've been up a lot sooner, but I had to rewrite half of chapter 2... I hope you enjoy!

"Harry! Look at me!" Draco said, holding the raven haired boy firmly by the shoulders. "It's alright. You're alright."

Harry's breathing slowed as he took in his surroundings. After a moment his eyes focused on the silver ones in front of him.

"You're okay Harry." The blonde whispered.

Emerald eyes searched the other's silver ones for a moment. Then he collapsed into the other's arms.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to freak out like that." Harry murmured.

Draco gently patted his dark hair. "It's not your fault. I should have thought about how dark the corridors were."

They stayed that way for another minute, allowing Harry's breathing to return to normal.

"Come on, we've got to get ready or we'll be late on the first day back." The blond urged.

A sigh came from the raven haired boy, as he stood up. He put on a weary smile and nodded.

Draco quickly led him down a dim hallway, and into a room with 4 large beds.

"Other people sleep here too?" Harry asked, as the blond began pulling clothes out of their trunks.

"There's not nearly enough rooms in the castle for everyone to have their own. That is why we get sorted into houses. The teachers think that if they put people with similar personalities in a room, there will be less fights." He finished with shrug. "Here's your uniform. We don't have time for a shower today, but we can take one before bed."

Raven hair bobbed up and down, as the other boy nodded. He carefully changed into the clothes the blonde had handed him. He winced as he maneuver his arm through the sleeve. When they were both changed Draco led them quickly to the large hall at the front of the building.

"Aren't we going to be late?" Harry questioned, as his brother scanned the lists posted on the wall.

Running his finger down one list he replied, "We've got to know what class to go to, or we'll end up missing the class completely." He tapped the list and turned toward the other boy. "Today we've got 'gardening', gym, history, english, astronomy, and chemistry. So we've got to go down to the green houses." He said with a sigh.

"Is 'gardening' a bad class?" Harry asked, imitating Draco's air quotes.

The blonde chuckled as they walked down the front steps. "Not necessarily, it's just really boring because it's so simple. Also we have it with the Hufflepuffs."

"Are they mean?" The dark haired boy asked.

"They don't have a mean bone in their house. They're just too damn happy all the time." Draco groaned.

"Why is that bad?"

The blond sighed, "It's not necessarily bad. It's just really annoying. "

"Huh." The dark haired boy said, a thoughtful look on his face.

They walked the rest of the way in silence. When they finally arrived at the proper greenhouse they were 10 minutes late, and class was already in full swing.

"Nice of you to show up, Mr. Malfoy." chided Professor Sprout. "Oh. Who is this?" She asked, turning her attention to the boy trying his best to hide behind the blond.

"This is Harry. We had to spend the night in the medical wing due to his arm." Draco said motioning to Harry's sling. "Pomfrey woke us up with only a half hour to get ready." he lied smoothly.

The teacher nodded, and motioned for them to take a seat. The blond led the way and took a seat across from Crabbe and Goyle. The two produced a copy of the worksheet for each of them. As well as a textbook.

"Glad to see you two can still do something right." Draco commented.

The two looked slightly ashamed, but the look soon vanished. Harry looked between the three trying to figure out what happened.

"What's the assignment?" The blond asked.

"We've got to finish this worksheet, and when we're done we have to do something in the vegetable greenhouse." Crabbe answered.

Draco let out a dramatic sigh. "There's no way we can make this last until the end of class, is there?"

While the other three were trying to prolong the worksheet, Harry was filling in the blanks. Draco was opening his book, when he glanced at the other boys paper.

"Harry, what are you doing?" Draco asked with a bit much of surprise in his voice.

The raven haired boy had been very intent on the worksheet. When the blond questioned him he started. His pencil fell to the floor, and he coward down slightly.

"I- I'm doing the- the um worksheet. Was I not supposed to?" He asked, stuttering.

"No, no. That's what you were supposed to do, but the faster you get it done the faster you have to pull weeds, or something." The blond explained. "How did you know all these answers?"

Harry looked back and forth between his paper and his brother, as Draco scanned the answers on his page. He flipped through through the book to double check answers, and asked what some of the words said. After he made his way down the page, he turned to the raven haired boy.

"They're all right too." He said, surprised. "Your handwriting is atrocious, but the answers are right."

Harry refused to make eye contact, "I used to spend the time that I wasn't in my... room... outside in the garden. And I was the only one who really... took care of it... so I learned a lot from that..." by now his fringe was firmly in place in front of his eyes.

Before Draco could respond professor Sprout was behind him. She plucked the completed worksheet from his hand. "Mr. Malfoy, you weren't going to copy of this young man's worksheet where you?" She asked, reviewing the answers.

"No ma'am. I was checking his answers for him." The blond said defensively.

"Well since you were able to check his worksheet you should be able to finish your own fairly quickly. In the mean time, I'll escort Mr... I'm sorry. Where are my manners? What is your name?" Sprout said.

"Harry Malfoy." The boy murmured, not looking at the woman.

She hesitated for a moment. "Well, it's nice to meet you Harry. Why don't you come to the garden with me, while this lot finishes the worksheet? "

Harry looked at the blond, silently asking what to do. Draco nodded slightly, and Harry turned to Sprout.

"Alright. " He said standing. "I'll see you when your done. I guess."

The blond nodded and turned back to his worksheet. He began quickly filling answers as the pair walked away.

"So you must be the new student Dumbledore is stressed about. Draco's new brother. You're not exactly what I expected for a Malfoy." She commented.

"I'm not what I expected them to get either, but I'm glad they did." Harry replied with a genuine smile.

Sprout smiled back. The two walked the rest of the way to the vegetable greenhouse in silence. There were other children in the greenhouse. The teacher walked over to a plump boy, wearing a red and gold tie..

"Harry this is Neville Longbottom. Neville this is Harry Malfoy. You both seem to have a knack for horticulture, so I'll leave you here and you two can get acquainted." Before either could object, she bustled out of the room.

The two boys looked at each other for a minute in awkward silence.

"Um... I'm Neville Longbottom, nice to meet you." Said the plump boy, extending his hand.

After a moment of hesitation, the dark haired boy took the extended hand. "I'm Harry Malfoy. Pleased to meet you." They dropped each other hands. "So what're we supposed to be doing?"

Neville relaxed a bit and began to explain what they did during the winter months, since actual gardening wasn't possible. He also explained what horticulture meant, and helped Harry gather what he needed to start planting various veggies.

After a while of working in silence Neville asked, "So your last name is Malfoy, right? As in Draco Malfoy? "

Harry looked up from his pot, "Yeah, why?"

"Well I was always under the impression that he was an only child. I mean he certainly gets pampered like one." The other boy said.

"Well he was an only child, but over Christmas break they kind of... picked me up and now he's not." The raven haired explained.

Neville looked confused for a moment. Then he understood, "Oh, I get it. So your like-"

"Longbottom, what're you doing?"

Both boys jumped as Draco came into the room. Neville quickly looked away and was very intent on tending to the plants. Draco glared at the boy for a beat longer, before turning to Harry.

"Class is almost over. Let's head back to the castle." He said.

"But we just got here. Are we allowed to leave early?" The dark haired boy questioned.

"There's nothing to do anymore, so why would we hang around?" Draco answered. "Come on. We've go a bit of a walk."

Harry stood up and followed the other boy to the door. He paused for a moment to turn and wave good-bye to the boy he was leaving behind. Neville smiled and waved back. The dark haired boy hurried to catch up with the blond.

Draco gave the other boy a strange look, but didn't say anything. They leisurely walked back to the castle. When they entered the building, there were kids everywhere. Fear shown in Harry's eyes. He looked at the blond, who took his hand.

"Don't worry. No one will hurt you. They're all to preoccupied with their lives anyway." Draco said.

Harry nooded, and followed him through the halls. They climbed several staircases, and walked down a long corridor. The blond stopped at a large wooden door.

He let out a deep sigh, "Now for gym with the Gryffindors."

Before Harry could question him, Draco pushed open the door and walked into the room.
