Comments: An 100 word ficlet inspired by Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Beethoven's Last Night", wherein Mephistopheles visits the composer.
The offer was tempting. A second chance. The opportunity to continue his work, to be spared of death - for now - and the promise of fame once he was gone. It was too good to pass up.
But taking one glance at Mephistopheles gave Beethoven immediate second thoughts. Setting aside the fact that the devil had given him an offer, there was also the disturbing wardrobe the former had chosen for this particular visit.
Because the last things he wanted to see on his deathbed were multicolored polkadots.
"Pass," the musician said flatly. "I may be deaf, but I'm not blind."
