The day had finally arrived. Today, Hermione, Violet, Mira, Amanda, Pansy, Jackie, Astoria, Daphne, and Claudia Zabini were going dress shopping for Hermione and Violet's wedding day.
The girls decided to go to a Wizarding dress shop called "Dresses for every occasion". Hermione was ecstatic to have her mother with her, while Violet mourned the fact that her mother had died when she was younger.
"This is going to be so awesome," Pansy squealed when they approached the doors of the store.
"Yeah, but now let's all calm down. We don't know what we're going to find here," Hermione said, being the calming influence in the group.
Upon entering the store, they were greeted by a young woman with long black hair, brown eyes, and a friendly smile.
"Hello and welcome to Dresses for every occasion. My name is Sarah and I will be helping you today," the girl named Sarah said in a friendly voice.
"Thank you, my name is Hermione and this is Violet. We are having a double wedding in July and need to find our wedding dresses," Hermione spoke up.
"Of course, I would assume that this is the rest of you're wedding party," Sarah said, while looking over the faces of many she recognized.
"Yes, these are our bridesmaids and this is my mother Claudia," Hermione confirmed to the woman.
"Well, if you will all follow me, I will lead your bridal party to a showing room and I'll speak with you two separately," Sarah said, as she lead them through the store.
When everyone else was sitting on couches in the showing room, Sarah lead the 2 brides to a consultation room because they insisted on being together.
"So what kind of dresses are you girls looking for?" Sarah asked, as Hermione and Violet contemplated.
"I was thinking maybe a mermaid style dress, pure white with rhinestones on it. Strapless or course," Violet was the first one to speak this time.
"And for you?" Sarah asked Hermione.
"I want a mermaid style dress, strapless, pure white with a floral design," Hermione was very clear on what she wanted.
As Sarah took notes, she saw that there was some level of sorrow passing through each of the young women, but she decided not to address it.
"I will be right back with dress options," Sarah said, as she exited the room.
Hermione and Violet looked at each other and hugged. They were both missing someone important to them now that the wedding plans had really begun.
Violet missed her mother even more; knowing that she wasn't going to be there to wish her luck, do her hair and makeup at the wedding, hold any grandchildren.
Hermione missed her dad immensely. She was sad that he wouldn't get to walk her down the aisle; instead it would be her brother. She was sad that he wouldn't be there to harass Harry whenever he got a chance. It was the small things that she'd miss most of all.
5 minutes later, Sarah returned with 2 dresses, one for each of them. Violet and Hermione both gasped when they saw the dresses. It was exactly like they had imagined them to be.
"Help Hermione get in her dress first," Violet told Sarah, as she made a move to help Violet.
As Sarah helped Hermione get into the dress, Hermione started to tear up. This was the moment that she had been dreaming about since Harry and her got betrothed.
When the dress was finally on, Hermione looked into the mirror and gasped. It was perfect; she knew she didn't need to try on any other dresses.
Violet was then helped into her dress. The dress fit her like a glove and she couldn't have been happier.
"Well, I think we've kept the others waiting long enough," Hermione chuckled, as the door was opened and they were lead into the showing room.
"Oh my Merlin!" was the exclamation that came from both Claudia and Pansy when they saw the brides-to-be.
When the others turned around, they saw their 2 friends, who were an absolute vision in white. They looked like angels in the dresses.
"Well, what do you think?" Violet asked the bridal party.
Everyone got up and swamped the 2 girls. They kept telling them how they were so beautiful and that they were going to make Draco and Harry cry. The only one crying was Claudia.
"Mom, are you okay?" Hermione said, as she took her mom's hand in her own.
"I'm fine, I just wish your father was here to see this. He would be so proud," Claudia wiped her eyes.
Those words broke open the floodgates Hermione had been holding in all day. She started to cry and wrapped her arms around her mother. Claudia stroked Hermione's hair, as she tried to clam her down.
Hermione regained her composure and told Sarah that this was her dress. Violet did the same a few seconds later. They went back to the room and got changed; afterwards they went looking for the bridesmaid dress, which they found (A.N: Secret until the wedding).
The group then left Wizarding London and returned to their homes where their families and boyfriends were waiting.
The rest of the break was spent with their loved ones, Violet and Hermione keeping their lips sealed about the dresses they had bought. They really wanted to surprise the boys on their wedding day.
The calm and loving atmosphere was cut short by the fact that they would have to return to Hogwarts and face the annoyance of Gryffindors, and Ronald Weasley.
But Harry and Hermione's love had only increased and they were ready to ignore each and every comment that they would hear about them, their friends, or their families.
