SHUICHIRO'S LAST MOMENTS

CHAPTER 1 - THE ACCIDENT

*Screech!* the shriek of tires was cut off by the loud bang that resonated in the air. A bloody mess that was once the motorbike's rider crumpled to the ground as the car halted hastily in front of the mangled body. The driver peeked out of the car window, only to be greeted by a horrible sight...

~Shuichiro's POV~

"Shuichiro! Shuichiro, wake up! It's me, Kohaku! Shuichiro! No!" The faint cries of a distraught young girl, or rather, angel, rang in my ears. I opened my eyes slowly, only to be blinded yet again by the hospital light that shined above me. Tch. The hospital should know better. "Wh-where am I...?" I murmured, squinting at the anxious faces that peered over me. The first face I saw was that of my dear, sweet Kohaku. The second face, Hisui. Kokuyo and Koryu probably didn't care. I felt my consciousness gradually slip away...

Instantly, a hand closed around my palm, gripping it tightly. "No! Shuichiro! Don't leave me!" I looked groggily at Kohaku, who was clutching my hand and sobbing desperately, tears streaming down her face in great "rivers". Hisui was gazing down with immense sadness clouding her beautiful green eyes, patting Kohaku's back soothingly.

"Kohaku... I'm not going to be around for much longer... Hisui... Thanks for taking care of her... I now entrust this duty to you... Kohaku... Take care of yourself, okay? I... I love you." the words caught in my throat. I felt myself fading away from this world...

~Kohaku's POV~

As I saw Shuichiro's eyes begin to close, I felt another great torrent of grief surge over me. I collapsed into Shuichiro's arms, wailing in despair. No! Not my Shuichiro! Why did this have to happen? "Kohaku... His time on Earth was up..." Madam Hisui's gentle words did little to calm me; I was too consumed with grief. As my tears gradually flowed until they could flow no more, I mourned the death of my beloved Shuichiro.
