This oneshot was inspired by a typo in a PM convo! I don't own DP and enjoy! And thanks to all you wonderful reviewers for my Drabble Air! :)

I meant not to cry...

...but I couldn't help myself...

It started out an odd day. For a goth, everything was unusually bright and cheery. I found myself even whistling a tune, something that I would never normally do. But I guess I was just in a good mood today. I strolled out to the dreary bus stop towing a light purple spider backpack on my back. Danny noticed the smile, and if I were him, I'd be curious too.

"What's with the smile?" he asked me. I shrugged, uncertain why I was in such a good mood. Maybe it's just because... He's there? I shook the thoughts out of my head: The world doesn't revolve on some silly little crush...

"Sam? Are you in there?" Embarrassed, I snapped back to attention, grinning sheepishly at Danny.

"Sorry Danny, I was just...zoning out." I said, my fingers fiddling with the backpack strap. He shrugged.

"Alright then...hey, have you seen Tucker?" he questioned, staring at me with those big blue eyes... I glanced over my shoulder towards Tucker's place. It was odd, he was usually out by now...

"Is he coming even? He's going to be late for the bus again!" I chuckled lightly. Tucker had a tendency to be late... 27 times is his record so far. The road began to rumble, and the yellow bus pulled into view. Danny shot me a lopsided smile.

"His loss." was his simple statement as he grabbed onto the guardrail, stepping up the steep steps. I smiled and soon followed. He scanned the aisle for an empty seat, and sat down in the seat next to the bus radio. I soon joined him, I mean, come on...he's my best friend! Sure, I might've scooted a little closer than usual to him, but still!

Danny, clueless as always, began to stare out the bleak bus window as I began to stare at him. Mostly glancing, but I was drawn to the vivid blue eyes that bring the grey world into color. The raven hair slid down just perfectly as he absentmindedly ran his fingers through his hair. His face suddenly changed expression, going from zoned out to highly concentrated.

Out of the blue he jerked his head towards me, cocking it to one side. I coughed, my cheeks turning slightly pink underneath his cool gaze.

"Yes Danny?" I asked, trying not to shout out loud how amazing his eyes were, piercing the windows to my soul. His normally joyous blue eyes were filled with a concentration I've never seen before.

"I-I've been thinking." Danny's voice dropped to a whisper. Even with the bus radio blaring, and the other kids talking, it felt like everything was happening in slow motion. I nodded.

"About what?" I questioned. He sighed deeply, and frowned.

"How would you feel if I asked Valerie out again?"

Those few words shattered my fragile world to pieces.

I meant not to cry...

...but I couldn't help myself.

A single tear slipped out and splashed to the ground. My world was in a haze- how could this happen? Why did he like her instead of m-

"Sam?" His warm voice... His comforting, warm voice...

"Are you okay?"

I swallowed, and forced a grin on my quivering face.

"I'm fine."

I couldn't help myself.
