Based off a starter prompt from a friend, "the old woman turned and smiled." 100 word drabble. Don't own, never will.
The old woman turned and smiled. It was a toothless, empty smile to match her empty eyes. I smiled back in a hollow sort of way, but I don't think she noticed. I don't think she noticed much of anything. She was in a world of her own, a very different world from these cold gray London streets. Somewhere warm filled with smiles, blue skies, and cotton ball clouds in the shape of fluffy animals. Somewhere void of loss and pain. She throws another handful to the birds. Feed the birds, that's what she says, tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag.
