E/O Challenge: Weak/Week. A 100-word drabble. We all need comfort in our moments of weakness - even Dean. Set during S01E12 Faith.
"There is a time for everything… / …a time to be born and a time to die… /…a time to kill and a time to heal…" - Ecclesiastes 3:1-3 (NIV)
The doctors warned he needed constant care or he'd not survive the week.
Dean disagreed. He needed Sammy, but Winchesters don't do 'weak', so he expressed it by wearing his brother's gray hoodie. The warm material smelled like Sam and was comforting like the hug that he couldn't ask for.
Guilt and remorse gnawed at his mind; so fearful of being alone he'd carelessly led the demon straight to Stanford. Now he was abandoning Sam.
Who was he kidding? Sam was better off without him…
He'd scraped the line of salt the night he'd climbed through Jess and Sam's window.
