Hello all! I'm glad you guys liked the last chapter because I felt really bad about not updating and I wanted to give you something to read… And your reviews were so nice an made me all smiley and stuff so yeah :D
Anyway here are the lovely reviewers:
Diamond Dunce, ThatGirlIntheBack (Oh my goodness I'm glad you liked it so much! Feels are fun but not all the time. I suppose they can be quite troubling when parents are trying to sleep…), PercyJackson is SeaweedBrain, ElmoDaHorse, Alee V, RandomAngel123, GreyEyedWiseGirl (ALWAYS be proud to be Ned because Ned is wonderful! I think my favorite was Moze as well but Loomer was up there too), SeaweedBrain'sWiseGurl393, soulwriter51, Guest, Greek Wise Girl, awesome-sadist, KatieElizabethGrace, prince of the seas, Crazy Fandom, readandwriteandlove, QUEEN-MEANIE II (ermygerd you're so nice thank you my dear!), Guest (um..no..she's not dead…), bratz12345, Demigod Spartan (riff raff, street rat, I don't buy that. If only they'd look closer…), bluelightningbug, Kather101, ADayWithNoLaughterIsADayWasted, Hungry4more, Jacksonluver101, Rhea (do not worry Tratie shall not be forgotten), , Percy Potter, .you
Belle's Book: Almost Home by Jessica Blank. It's 7 kids living on the streets of LA. Each one has a story of what brought them there and why they don't want to go back home. It's really good but the ending makes me mad. Still, it's a good read.
One more thing! My darling friend Riptide14 writes Percy Jackson stories. She has two but she updates pretty frequently and except for her grammar (which I give her shit for all the time even if it is auto correct's fault) she's a pretty awesome writer and her plots are really good. So if you're pissed because I'm not updating you should go read her.
Chapter 11- Annabeth
I woke up in serious pain. I tried to open my eyes but it was too much and I squeezed them shut again with a whimper. Within seconds I felt a hand on my cheek and heard Percy's concerned voice asking, "Annabeth? Are you okay?"
I shook my head. "My shoulder…"
I could feel him hesitantly removing the blanket from my bare shoulder. Despite the fact that I had been stabbed twice and had almost died, I still felt a rush of embarrassment as I realized that Percy was seeing me without a shirt on. Even if it was just my back, I had never been this close to a guy who wasn't one of my brothers.
Percy spoke from somewhere above me. "It's okay, Annabeth. I think it's just stiff. It isn't infected or anything, which is really good. Here, let me help you sit up." He carefully wrapped the blanket around me so that nothing would be revealed while he picked me up and flipped me over so that I was sitting up in bed, my back resting softly against a cool pillow. He made sure I was comfortable and then grabbed a cup of something from a nearby table. He put the cup to my lips and said, "Here, drink this. It'll make you feel better."
I drank it and found that he was right. Almost immediately the pain in my shoulder lessened. I finished the whole cup in a couple gulps. After I had caught my breath I asked, "What is that?"
He smiled. "My mom created it. She calls it ambrosia. I don't know how she does it, but it always makes me feel better whenever I drink it. I figured it might be able to help you too."
I smiled back. "It did. Can I have some more?"
He nodded furiously and ran off to go get some more. He came back only seconds later and I laughed. He tilted his head in confusion. "What?"
I laughed again. "I've just never had a guy as a nurse before."
He rolled his eyes and handed me the cup before sitting on the edge of my bed. "I prefer to think of myself as a concerned caregiver." He watched me as I drank down the second cup. "And I am concerned…about…you."
I could feel the blush creeping into my cheeks again. "I know…I…I heard what you said. What you and Thalia said."
He blushed too. "You heard all of it."
I nodded and looked away. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. About Luke. I never imagined that…that this would happen. That…you would happen."
"It's fine, Annabeth. I guess you heard me say the thing about your bracelet then?"
I nodded. "Yeah. I can try to pretend to be mad at you, but I'm not. I know why you did it."
He looked startled. "You do."
"Of course. You didn't think I would help you if you just gave it to me. And honestly I probably wouldn't have. I didn't know then what I know now."
"And what do you know now?"
My heart began beating faster. "I know that you would do anything to save your family and your friends. And I know that you love me. And…I know that I love you too."
He grinned widely. "Do you mean it?"
I nodded. "But I also know that this…whatever we have…isn't going to last. Not here. Especially not if you're a wanted criminal and I'm engaged to a cheating ass." I sighed. "Did you really go after him with a knife?"
He nodded. "He raped Thalia when she wouldn't do it willingly. She found out that he was cheating on her and tried to break up with him but he wouldn't let her. I guess you could say I ended their relationship."
I looked at him with wide eyes. "Wow. That's dangerous."
He shrugged. "I don't like it when people hurt my friends."
I smirked, remembering how he'd screamed at and hit his ex-girlfriend after she stabbed me. "I could tell."
He smiled back and said, "Well if you're feeling up to it, I should really take you back to Olympus. You've been gone over a day and I'm pretty sure they're gonna put the city on lockdown soon."
I giggled and he helped me sit up. "Okay. But um…can you get Thalia? I need some help putting my dress back on."
Looking completely unabashed he said, "I can help you."
I blushed. "Well…um…okay." I carefully turned so that my back was facing him. After pulling my dress up over my legs I reached around behind me and tugged the dress together, careful not to overuse my shoulder. I could feel Percy's hands gently caressing my back as he tied up the back of the dress. For a guy, he was surprisingly good at this. I looked at him sideways over my shoulder and said, "If my maid ever retires I'm going to hire you."
He kissed my neck just below my ear and murmured against my skin, "If that means I get to see you like this every day I'll gladly accept."
We shared a few more kisses before walking back to Olympus. As Thalia predicted, Hades was swarming with the Guard. Percy and I ducked into alleyways and hidden crannies, stealing kisses and embraces at every possible moment. Between my injuries and our need to hide, the walk was extremely slow, but we cherished every second. We had no idea if we would ever see each other again.
As we approached the hole in the wall that served as the only bridge between my world and Percy's, I clung to his neck as he held my waist in a tight embrace. I whispered, "Will I ever see you again?"
He answered truthfully, "I don't know. I have a long way to run."
I looked up into his sea green eyes. It was a color I'd only ever read about in books, but it was one that I would not soon forget. "Then run far and run fast. And when it's safe, run back to me. I'll wait for you Percy."
He looked confused and torn. "Annabeth come with me. Please. I can't leave you here with…him." He moved his hands up to cup my face and caressed my cheeks with his thumbs. "We could be together. Forever."
I closed my eyes. "I can't yet. There's so much to do. After all I've learned about Hades I can't just leave. Someone needs to tell the King what's going on. And Octavian shouldn't be allowed to act so ruthlessly. There are things that need to change and if I don't stay to make sure it happens then it will never stop."
He sighed, knowing how stubborn I was. "I love you, Annabeth."
"I love you, too, Percy. Now go."
He kissed me one last time before running off into the darkening distance. I watched him until my straining eyes could no longer make out his figure. Sadly, I climbed back through the hole to the only world I'd ever known up until five days before.
Suddenly I was pushed against the wall. I cried out, my injured shoulder hitting the hard stones with force. The man who held me against the wall was strong. I could smell the heavy scent of alcohol on his breath. Terrified, I looked up into the face of my captor. His piercing, crazed blue eyes sent a jolt through my stomach. I couldn't help but hope that Percy was already far, far away.
"Well, well, well, look who's been lying with the street rats."
Luke had obviously had a lot to drink that night.
That is all for now my lovelies. Again, I'm horrible at updating and I apologize profusely. I love you all so very much though. Reviews are nice but not required. ~Belle
