A little something to pass the time...

Disclaimer: Um, nope.

Summary: "Sweetie, haven't you always told me the sonic doesn't work on wood?"

"Ow! Ow! Ow!"

"Sweetie, haven't you always told me the sonic doesn't work on wood?"

"Well, yes, but I thought I might have fixed that!"

"Apparently not."

Furious, the Doctor slapped the sonic on his thigh, causing it to blink and whine even higher. He pointed it downward with one hand.

"Work, you silly thing!"

River snickered. "Want some help?"

"No, no, I'll take care of it."

"You sure? I've got something that'll help."

"River, I'm quite sure I can handle a simple splinter."

"I've got a set of tweezers in my bag."

He just gave her that face that said, "I'm a Time Lord, I can handle a little splinter."

"Fine, let me know when you're done, then."

As she left, he glared at the little blue box he'd been making for her to help organize her cell in Stormcage. It would be great for her jewelry, he'd thought.

"I really need to develop a better setting for wood," he muttered as he set back to work getting the splinter out of his thumb.

Show of hands, who thought that was a clearly sexual reference and had to reread it to understand?
