"Alice, I can't do this anymore."
"What?" asked Alice. She was working on her potions essay while her girlfriend, Lily, read a charms book. It was nearing midnight and the two girls were the only ones left in the common room.
"We can't be together. I wish we could." said Lily.
Alice couldn't believe her ears. Lily, her sensible Lily, was breaking up with her? After three years, she suddenly says they have to split up? "What did I do? I'll do anything to fix it babe. But please, don't do this."
Lily's heart broke hearing her beloved's voice pleading with her. "It isn't you. It's just... people are getting suspicious. Peter almost walked in on us last week! I don't want to be known as 'that lesbo chick'!"
"Lily, I love you. You can't break up with me. You still love me, too. I can tell." said Alice.
"Alice," said Lily,"you're bi. You have a chance at a normal life! I can't let you pass that up. I'll find a guy. Maybe I'll put James out of his misery. But this isn't normal..."
"So what if it isn't normal!" interrupted Alice. "I don't care about normal. I care about you!"
"I'm sorry Alice. I can't anymore." said Lily. She picked up her book and went up to bed.
Alice stared at her until she left. Three years of love and support, gone. They attended their first dance together, were each others first date, first kiss, first time.
And now, first heartbreak.
Hope you enjoyed. I always thought Lily had more than one reason for rejecting James. REVIEW!
