But I am a Time Traveller
"But I am a time traveller… I can't be with you."
Bell stared at the handsome man, Alistair. "Who is that man…?" she thought aloud. The man looked up but went back to reading his newspaper. "I must find out." She looked at him. He paid no attention to her – oblivious to the beautiful woman sitting across the open-air café.
"Ahem!" she raised her voice. Alistair stopped looking at his newspaper and looked up Bell. He mouthed 'who, me?' "Sir?" she asked. "Could I get your name?" She stood up and sat down next to him. "You don't mind, do you?"
"Not at all," he replied courteously. "I'm Alistair Wells, who are you?"
"Catherine Bell… but most people call me Bell." She tipped her hat to him. She rested her head on her hand. "What do you do for a living?"
"It's hard to explain."
"Ahem… where do I even begin?" he spoke with uncertainty. "I find things that don't belong, using clues. I'm a time traveller, you could say."
"Oh, how strange… You see, I help solve murders using clues. I ride an airship… But a time traveller? That's amazing."
She wanted to do it.
She wanted to kiss him.
How would he react, though?
What if he's in love with someone else?
"It's a fun job – my crew and I, travelling through centuries… it's pure magic," he said with a grin. "Nothing can beat it."
This lady is beautiful…
She is beautiful as Eleanor!
No! Eleanor would be sad…
I can't kiss her!
I can't be with her – I'm a time traveller!
"I bet." She smiled.
I can't do it.
Yes, I can! I'm Bell!
She leaned in and kissed him. "You're cute, you know that?"
"I've gotten that before," he said in between his lips. "You're beautiful."
"Thank you…" She giggled. He winked.
"No problem…" He stared at her. "Listen, I have to go now. I have to investigate a teddy bear in a sarcophagus."
"Take me with you…"
"But I am a time traveller… I can't be with you." The man walked away while Bell stared at him. She sighed and then thought about Blackwood, someone that would definitely love her no matter what.
A/N: Finally got around to this!
