Just a short one shot that takes place during the mood swing scene, my first Tangled story!

"What she doesn't know won't kill her, right?"

"Look blondie if we're going to get you to-" Flynn Rider said impatiently as he watched the young girl bounce. He turned her head and saw her dashing barefooted into a nearby cavern.

"Hey where are you going!" he called, following the long river of golden hair trailing behind her.

"Oh my gosh this would kill her!" she exclaimed, her voice echoing in the cave walls.

"Well if it's going to kill—whoa!" he complained as she ran past him out of the cave with an excited squeal. He hopped over her hair so it wouldn't trip him and groaned wearily. Why did he have to get pinned to the unstable bipolar chick?

"THIS IS SO FUN!" she screamed to the high heavens. He watched as she threw her arms out wide and spun around in a large circle, laughing. Soon, however, the long hair got spun around her ankles and she tripped forward, falling to the ground.

"Ouch!" she complained, reaching down to unwrap the hair from her ankles.

Flynn ran a hand down his face and sighed, going up to her.

"Are you alright?" he asked impatiently, looking down at her. It took him a moment to register that she was crying. Again.

"Look are you coming or not, if you're that worried about upsetting your mother then why don't you just scuttle on home-"

"No, Flynn. It's not that," she sniffed, looking up at him. "Look."

She held up her hand which he could see had been scraped in the fall and was now bleeding a bit.

He scoffed. "Is that all?"

"This hurts!" she cried worriedly.

"It's not that bad."

"This hurts! It hurts…I'm hurt! I got hurt!" she said wide eyed. She touched the scrape and winced.

"Oh please, it's not like you haven't been hurt before. It's just a little blood."

"Blood?"

"Yes."

"Blood?" she repeated breathlessly. She held her injured hand in her other and held it close to her face, blinking and squinting at it as if she was analyzing it. "Blood? Oh my goodness, I'm bleeding!"

"What? Oh please, like you've never scraped your knee or something before?" Flynn sighed sharply.

"Well…no!"

"Never? Oh come on."

Rapunzel wiped her tears with the back of her hand. "I've never seen blood before. Well I've read about it, but I've never gotten hurt! Oh Mother was right! She was right! It's dangerous out here, I got hurt! She said I would. She's right, I can't handle it. I can't handle anything..."

"Hey now…" he said quietly, seeing her eyes fill up with tears again. He gently took her hand and looked at it.

"Am I going to be okay?" she sniffled softly.

He took a deep breath and looked into her eyes. "Actually, you're going to die. Sorry blondie, it was nice knowing you."

She giggled and wiped her eyes. "Hey, I got hurt!" she said with a bright voice, scrambling to her feet and bouncing a bit.

"That's another first on this adventure of mine! Mother said I wouldn't make it but I'm okay! This is so exciting! I love this!"

She dashed towards a nearby tree with a carefree laugh and climbed up it in a new burst of energy. She waved to Flynn from the branch she was standing on happily before her face fell.

"What about when mother finds out I got hurt?"

She sighed and pressed her forehead to the trunk while closing her eyes.

"I…am a horrible daughter. I'm going back."

And the movie picks up from there! Thanks for reading, I know that she knows her hair has healing powers but for the sake of the story let's just say she decided not to use it on herself.
