Sooooo, this is my first ever fanfiction! Hooray! *cue the canned applause*

But anyway, please read and review. I'm always trying to be better, so constructive critism is always welcome. :)

Oh, and by the way... I don't own Merlin. Shucks.

"So… Merlin. You have magic."

"Yes, sire."

"And you've only ever used it for good."

"Of course, sire."

"And… you've been protecting me. And my father. And Camelot."

"Ever since I came here."

"Even though magic is punishable by death."

"Erm… Uh, yes."

"You do realize how incredibly stupid that is."

"What, saving your royal backside over and over?"

"No, you idiot. Using magic. In Camelot."

"Hey, if it wasn't for me and my magic, you'd be dead a thousand times by now."

"I understand that. But using magic in Camelot… this is even more idiotic than when you decided to help me kill the dragon."

"Oh… yeah. Right. Um, about that dragon…"

"Don't tell me you killed it."

"No, I didn't. But… neither did you."

"What? But… wait, that thing's still alive?"

"He's not a thing, his name's Kilgarrah."

"It has a name?"

"Of course he does."

"The dragon's still alive… but then, why hasn't it attacked Camelot? Why did it leave?"

"I… um… I told him to leave."

"And it-"

"HE Arthur. Not it."

"Fine, HE just obeyed you? Just like that?"

"Um… well… yes. You see… I'm also a Dragonlord. The last one."

"You're a Dragonlord? But… how is that even possible? Balinor was the last one and he died! In order for you to be a Dragonlord, Balinor would have to have been… he'd have to have been… Oh. That's why you were… Oh. Balinor… he was your father, wasn't he? And I told you no man was worth your tears…"

"It's alright Arthur. You didn't know."

"But still… Merlin, I'm so sorry."

"It's alright. It's been years."

"So Balinor was your father… and when he died… you became a Dragonlord?"

"Yes."

"So you just told the dragon to leave. I didn't have anything to do with saving Camelot from it."

"Well, when you put it that way… no. You didn't."

"Thank you Merlin, your support is always appreciated."

"Always here to help, sire!"

"So you're a Dragonlord and a sorcerer."

"Well, actually, I'm not a sorcerer. I'm a warlock."

"A what?"

"A warlock. There's a difference. I was born with magic, I didn't learn it."

"Wait, I just realized something…"

"Oh, really? Congratulations Arthur, it's about time you began to think like the rest of us-"

"Shut up Merlin. I was going to say that I just realized wyverns are kind of like dragons… you didn't get rid of them too, did you?"

"Uh… yes. I did."

"And the gargoyles Cornelius Sigan brought to life? You didn't-"

"Yeah, I did."

"And Morgause's immortal army?"

"I knocked over the cup of life, which destroyed them."

"Wait, what about the griffin? Did you-"

"Yes."

"And the Afanc?"

"Mmhm."

"And what about the-"

"Yeah, that was me."

"You didn't even hear what I was going to say!"

"I didn't need to. The answer is always, yes. I saved you. And Camelot."

"Merlin, have I ever defeated a magical creature? Unaided?"

"Uh… let me think… umm… no. You haven't."

"Perfect. I've been out mastered by my servant."

"Correction: You've been out mastered by your best friend, the most powerful Warlock in history. Who happens to be posing as your servant."

"You know, when you put it that way, it makes it sound a bit better."

"You're welcome."

"Did I say thank you?"

"No, but when you use that tone of voice, it's kind of implied."

"Merlin?"

"Yes?"

"Shut up."

"Yes, your pratness."

"And Merlin?"

"Yes?"

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, Arthur."
