Katie leaned over and called softly over a few sleeping bags.

"Hey," she whispers softly over the sleeping head of another camper.

"Yeah?" The voice whispers back.

"Do you... Maybe wanna go out sometime?" She silently waits for a reply. Eventually she gets one.

"Katie?" Says a hesitant voice from a few sleeping teens away.

"Yeah?" She breathes.

"...I'm Connor." Katie rolls in to the pillow to hide her growing blush.

"Don't talk to me."

"Ever?"

"Ever."

"But you're talking to me now," he says, his voice mocking. "Besides, ever is a long time."

Katie never responds.
