the introduction

My name is Sylvia Cross. Until recently, I was pretty much an ordinary girl living in La Push with my relaxed dad, irritating mom and stupid older brother. Meanwhile, around me supernatural beings live seemingly ordinary lives to outsiders while concealing their true selves. I was blind to this other side of the world until mine and Embry Call's eyes locked one evening. In a matter of seconds, my old life had come to an end. I had to become someone strong; someone who wasn't as weak and dull as me... someone different. Or did I? Could I still be me after learning of all of this? And now... I'm one of them. I'm a shape shifter. A wolf. And a double imprint to top it all off. It's a lot to accept... Sometimes I just want to give up, lie down and close my eyes tightly shut.

Whenever I look in the mirror it feels like I'm looking at stranger. But that isn't the case is it? Just like everyone else - wolf or vampire - I had to adjust to this massive change. I could do it. I can do it. I will do it. Even if it is only for Embry Call who will me feel every single emotion combined and amplified at once...

Forever.

Eternity was a possibility for our relationship so I had plenty of time to become strong and learn how to protect my home, family and friends. I had time to behave like a normal high school student and to have silly arguments, mess around and receive detentions.

This is my life and no matter how shitty, complicated, painful or tiring it gets I am going to live it. And I will fight for it. I know now that I won't be alone either, because I have Embry, the pack, my friends, the Cullen family and you.
